Mount Vernon, Texas Animal Shelter The Mount Vernon Animal Shelter is happy to match available pets with loving families. The Shelter is run by the City of Mount Vernon, TX.

The Mount Vernon, TX Animal Shelter is the temporary home for dogs and cats in Franklin County. We are in partnership with PAWS of Franklin Co., TX, a 501c3 organization and the citizens of Franklin County. We strive to reunite every pet with its family. In the event a pet isn't reclaimed within three days, animals are available for adoption. Shelter hours are M-F 8:00am-5:00pm. Please call the shelter at 903-588-3030 to report your missing pet or to make arrangements to view animals.

Mt. Vernon Residents, We need your help. A trucker at LOVES TRUCK STOP lost her blood hound last night around 8:00. He is around two years old and has some bald spots on his feet and face due to allergies. He slipped his collar. The loud talking of men and the noise of the trucks frightened him away. If you have spotted him, or perhaps have him put up in a safe place, please call the shelter at 903 588 3030. After hours number is 903-717-4480. We would really love to reunite this frantic owner and her scared pup.
