Mount Vernon, Texas Animal Shelter The Mount Vernon Animal Shelter is happy to match available pets with loving families. The Shelter is run by the City of Mount Vernon, TX.

The Mount Vernon, TX Animal Shelter is the temporary home for dogs and cats in Franklin County. We are in partnership with PAWS of Franklin Co., TX, a 501c3 organization and the citizens of Franklin County. We strive to reunite every pet with its family. In the event a pet isn't reclaimed within three days, animals are available for adoption. Shelter hours are M-F 8:00am-5:00pm. Please call the shelter at 903-588-3030 to report your missing pet or to make arrangements to view animals.

One of our goals at the shelter is to cover our walls with the beautiful faces and stories of adopted pets who found their forever homes.
Every adoption or rescue tells a story of love, second chances, redemption, and the incredible bond between people and animals. We want visitors to walk through our doors and be reminded that every pet deserves a happy ending.

Our hope is to print and frame these stories to create a wall filled with love, inspiration, and reminders of why we do what we do every day.
