Meet Lennie — a 2-year-old, 40-lb sweetheart who checks all the boxes!

Easygoing and great on leash, Lennie is social with both new people and new dogs. She loves to run and play, then settles in beautifully for cuddles and pets. Her demeanor is sweet, gentle, and friendly—and it shows.

As one volunteer put it: “Lennie is such a good girl!! She’s a universal volunteer favorite—everyone loves her squishy face, and she’s so well-behaved.”

Lennie is available to meet at the Small Miracles Rescue shelter (10236 Baltimore National Pike, Ellicott City). Our adoption hours are Tuesday 11-3, Thursday 5-8, Friday 11-3, Saturday 11-4, and Sunday 12-3. For more information about our adoption process, visit our website at: https://www.smallmiraclesrescue.org/adopt.shtml

Do you have room in your heart - but not your home - for Lennie? You can still help them by sharing our posts and considering a year-end donation to help offset the costs of our ‘extended stay’ guests at the shelter. Here is more about how to donate: https://www.smallmiraclesrescue.org/donate.shtml

We also ALWAYS need dog walkers at the shelter every day (including holidays) at 9am, noon, and 6pm. And fosters for puppies and kittens - having fosters lined up is the only way we can say “yes” to our partner rescues when they ask us to take litters.

Thank you for your support and to Chris Marcinek Photography and K. Carey Photography, LLC for taking our dogs’ portraits. We could not do this without all of you!

Meet Lavender — a 7-month-old sweetheart with classic puppy energy and a big personality (in the best way)!

She and her brother Basil are the last two from a litter of eight that arrived at 5 months old. Lavender is still learning her manners, but she’s treat-motivated and eager to learn.

Lavender gets along well with other dogs (cat compatibility unknown) and plays hard—rough and rowdy—then crashes even harder for nap time. You can usually find her proudly carrying a squeaky toy wherever she goes.

Lavender is available to meet TODAY from noon to 3pm at the Small Miracles Rescue shelter (10236 Baltimore National Pike, Ellicott City). Lavender is in foster care, so if you can't make it today, send us an email with your application form! For more information about our adoption process, visit our website at: https://www.smallmiraclesrescue.org/adopt.shtml

Meet Canela — a 1-year-old, 50-lb sweet mama girl whose puppies have all been adopted and are thriving. Now it’s her turn to find a forever home.

This affectionate super mutt loves going for walks (but not car rides 🤣) and is happiest snuggled up on a cozy bed with her people. She is not cat-compatible, so she’ll need a cat-free home.

Canela is currently heartworm positive, so she needs restricted activity while she completes treatment with us—but she’s gentle, loving, and so ready for a family of her own.

Canela is available to meet TODAY at the Small Miracles Rescue shelter (10236 Baltimore National Pike, Ellicott City)! Our adoption hours are Saturday 11-4, Sunday 12-3, Tuesday 11-3, Thursday 5-8, and Friday 11-3. Meet Astro — a stunning, blue-eyed husky mix with just the right amount of husky. At 3 years old and 50 lbs, he’s the perfect medium-sized adventure buddy with a heart full of love.

Astro is:
✨ Playful and energetic
✨ Medium/active energy — fun but not over the top
✨ Affectionate and absolutely loves people
✨ Eager to please, smart, and very food-motivated
✨ Great at picking up new skills

He’s heartworm positive, but his treatment is almost complete — and he’s handled it like a champ.

Astro is available to meet TOMORROW at the Small Miracles Rescue shelter (10236 Baltimore National Pike, Ellicott City)! Our adoption hours are Tuesday 11-3, Thursday 5-8, Friday 11-3, Saturday 11-4, and Sunday 12-3. Meet Juan — a newly 1-year-old, 70-lb gentle giant with a heart as big as his paws!

Tall, handsome, and sweet as can be, Juan gets along great with other dogs and doesn’t mind cats one bit. He loves spending time in the yard, especially if there’s a chance to play chase — his absolute favorite game!

He’s still polishing his leash manners, but that’s only because he’s so excited about the world. With a little guidance, this big softie will make an amazing companion.

Juan is available to meet TODAY at the Small Miracles Rescue shelter (10236 Baltimore National Pike, Ellicott City)! Our adoption hours are Tuesday 11-3, Thursday 5-8, Friday 11-3, Saturday 11-4, and Sunday 12-3. We are excited to be participating in the Holiday Market in Catonsville tomorrow afternoon from 12-5! We will have 7 adoptable puppies there and will also be accepting donations and would love to talk with you about volunteering with our rescue. You'll find us right next to Santa - and there will be many other free family-friendly activities.

This weekend, the Catonsville Clubhouse has been transformed into a holiday market, and WBAL-TV 11 News provides a look at some of the unique gifts people can find from local artists.

We’re back with our 12 (or so?) Dogs of Christmas 2025! Meet Chica — a 1-year-old, 32-lb sweetheart with plenty of personality - and a movie star's looks - in her petite frame!

A volunteer describes her as “the cutest little ball of energy with a friendly, sweet demeanor." She may start out a bit timid, but she warms up fast and is soon ready to run, play, and entertain you. Chica loves doing quick “drive-bys” for affection before bouncing back into fun mode.

If you want a dog who’s playful, lovable, and totally adorable, Chica is your girl!

Chica is available to meet at the Small Miracles Rescue shelter (10236 Baltimore National Pike, Ellicott City) TONIGHT beginning at 5 pm! Our adoption hours are Tuesday 11-3, Thursday 5-8, Friday 11-3, Saturday 11-4, and Sunday 12-3.
