Cassandra Cat Wants Her Claws Back Cassandra was found in the woods, starving, declawed, young, post-declaw issues. The vet wanted to euthanize her-she refused to be examined.

Found out that monster declawed cats, that was the last time we went there. Cassandra had the best second life💕

Peaches needs someone who understands the psychology of declawed cats.

Peaches is NOT having a peachy keen time at the shelter. For her wellbeing and the safety of our staff we need to find placement for her ASAP.

Peaches' story starts here at the shelter in 2018 where she was adopted out as a kitten. She lived with one woman until recently when she was surrendered to the shelter due to the declining health of her owner. Peaches was kept up on regular vet appointments, is spayed and front declawed and we were hoping she would be a quick in and out re-adoption.
That has turned out to not be the case. Peaches has been here for 2 weeks and is still overwhelmed, scared, feisty and aggressive to the employees. She doesn't have much of an appetite and handling her is incredibly stressful for all involved.

What does she need? A quiet home where she is the only animal and can decompress on her own terms. There is potential since she lived with a woman for 8 years so we know it's there, but she is not going to show us that side of her personality while here with us. You also have to have patience to let her be angry and scared until she feels comfortable again.

If you think you have a space for Peaches and can give her the time she requires to fully decompress and adjust back to her regular personality, please reach out.
Adoption fee is reduced to $100 to find her a home quickly. We do not have a foster program at RBHS so all interested people would need to be willing to adopt.

When Cassandra was outside she somewhat forgot she was front declawed. Nature was busy trying to make her forget. Beautiful kitty, we will never forget, never. May justice come to cat abusers with a dvm after their names.

The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) actively campaigns against shifting the legal terminology of pets from "property" to "guardianship". As detailed previously, they lobby state legislatures to block bills that would grant animals unique legal standing. Animal rights lawyers argue the AVMA's fierce opposition slows down the evolution of animal protection laws.

A proposed Virginia law will recognize pets more as family (though not exactly equal to humans) and increase the penalty for animal abuse

Stay away from cat-hating veterinarians, they should be in prison for animal cruelty. American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) your honorable Dr. Misener started declawing in 1952 and you gave him an award for it, also, you stop declaw bans, cats know you are evil.

We live in a dystopian society where veterinarians are allowed to mutilate kitty paws. They are a bunch of programmed humanoids, their only goal is to meet the monthly quota. Keep your pets safe, stay far away.

This a photo of a declawed cat on the surgical table, with the vet’s hand that used a laser to mutilate and permanently harm him. (Does he have one of the cat's toe bones in his hand?)

Veterinary staff, do you work at a vet clinic that declaws cats and hate it?
We especially want to hear from you if you work for a veterinary group clinic. , , AAHA.org, Western Veterinary Partners, etc...

Please let us know. We will keep your info completely anonymous.

Declawing not only is inhumane and harmful to cats but it also causes serious moral stress and injury to veterinary staff and animal welfare workers. Here's our story. https://citythekitty.org/is-the-angst-of-declawing-contributing-to-veterinarian-suicide/

Always take the high road and educate.

I thought veterinarians were supposed to heal their patients, instead they mutilate them for profit. People are waking up and will only use vets who do not declaw.
