It's impossible to put into words how much this goofy, affectionate boy meant to us. He never met a person, dog, cat, or kitten he didn't want to love.
Hank was an American Bully who spent his entire life overcoming the challenges created by irresponsible breeding. His body simply wasn't built to support itself. He lived with chronic ear infections, needed surgery to repair both of his back knees because of his structure, and in the end, cancer took him from us far too soon.
But if Hank knew any of that, he never let it define him.
He was endlessly sweet, always ready for cuddles, and delightfully needy in the best possible way. He was happiest when he could lean against you, rest his giant head in your lap, or convince you that he absolutely needed just a little more attention.
One of our favorite things about Hank was the gentle giant he became with every kitten who came through Ruff Ranch Sanctuary. He was the world's best uncle. Tiny foster kittens climbed all over him, snuggled against him, and trusted him completely. He had the biggest heart, and somehow all of those little ones knew they were safe with him.
We're heartbroken that he's gone, but so grateful that we had the privilege of loving him.
A very special thank you to Warren County Veterinary Clinic for the compassionate, exceptional care you gave Hank throughout his life. We are so thankful for everything you did for our boy.
Run free, sweet Hank. We hope there are endless kittens waiting to nap beside you, soft beds to stretch out on, and all the love your giant heart deserves.
