Ever wonder what really drives me to do this work? I’ve never shared the full story
—until now. Time to get a little vulnerable.❤️🩹
I didn’t get into dog training because I had perfect experiences with dogs growing up. Quite the opposite. I grew up in a home that was not equipped to raise dogs well. My first dog, Daisy, was a Dalmatian puppy gifted to me for my second birthday, which was completely inappropriate and unfair to everyone involved, especially her.
Left in the care of kids and nannies, our dogs lived a life of chaos: constant escapes, injuries to other animals, fear-based training, and escalating behavioral issues that ultimately ended in tragedy. The turning point came in fourth grade, when Daisy and Lucy escaped and severely injured my friend during a sleepover. That moment—and everything that led to it—left a scar that turned into purpose. Watching my childhood dogs suffer due to neglect, abuse, poor decisions, and aversive training shaped the very core of who I am today.
I do this work because I never want another dog or child to experience what I did. I advocate for dogs who are stressed, misunderstood, and mishandled. I partner with parents who are trying—truly trying—to do right by their dogs, even if they don’t know how yet. I draw hard lines when it comes to neglect, abuse, punishment-based training, and homes that aren’t ready to meet a dog’s needs.
This isn’t just a job. This is my calling.
If you’re ready to build a better relationship with your dog—one rooted in empathy, science, and mutual trust—I’d be honored to support you. Book a consultation and let’s get started. ❤️🩹
