🦆✨ Freedom Friday: Wood Duck Edition! ✨🦆

Recently, we released a group of wood ducks raised and rehabilitated at Anderson Humane Wildlife Center. Once too young to survive on their own, they’re now strong enough to return to the ponds and rivers they call home.

Wood ducks are one of the few North American ducks that nest in tree cavities—and when the ducklings hatch, they leap from their nests (sometimes 50 feet high!) before following mom to water. 🌿💦

Watching them swim away is a beautiful reminder of why protecting wetlands and caring for wildlife matters. 💛

✨ Morning Feeding Team (8–10 am) – Start the day by making sure every pet gets a full belly.
✨ Afternoon Enrichment Team (1–4 pm) – Bring joy through play, walks, and activities that keep tails wagging and noses twitching.

These weekly, hands-on roles directly impact the happiness and well-being of pets waiting for adoption.
