🐾 June is Pet Preparedness Month! 🐾
Pet preparedness isn’t just about emergency plans, it’s about being fully ready for the responsibility of pet ownership, whether you’re bringing home a new puppy, adopting a senior cat, or caring for the pets already in your life.
Here are some ways to be prepared for your pet:
✅ Plan ahead before bringing a new pet home, make sure you have the time, space, and budget to care for them properly.
✅ Stock up on essentials: food, bowls, beds, toys, collars, leashes, litter boxes, and enrichment tools.
✅ Schedule a vet visit early on to establish care and discuss vaccines, parasite prevention, and nutrition.
✅ Invest in training and socialization, especially with puppies and kittens. Good behavior doesn’t happen by accident!
✅ Have an emergency kit ready: food, water, medications, ID tags, leashes, and a copy of vet records.
✅ Know your local emergency resources, including pet-friendly shelters and vet clinics.
Owning a pet means making a lifelong commitment to their health, safety, and happiness. Being prepared helps ensure your pet thrives, not just in tough times, but every single day. ❤️🐶🐱
