🍁 The days are getting shorter… and your chickens are noticing! 🐔

Fall brings more than cooler mornings to the coop. As daylight hours decrease, your hens may lay fewer eggs. You might also see feathers scattered around as some birds molt and grow a fresh set. Then, as temperatures drop, your flock may eat more feed to help maintain body warmth.

Here's how you can help them through the season:

🥚 Keep a balanced feed in the feeder. Tucker Milling's Show Flock Layer 22 is a 22% protein mini pellet made for laying mixed flocks. Good nutrition matters while birds are replacing feathers and adjusting to the colder weather.

✨ Give feathers a little extra support. Kickin' Chicken is a liquid feed supplement with omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids that support feather condition. Mix it with feed according to the label.

💧 Check the basics every day. Make sure your chickens have fresh water, plenty of feed, and a coop that stays dry with good ventilation. Those little checks become especially helpful as the weather changes.

If egg production slows this fall, remember that shorter daylight is a big part of the reason. A great feeding routine supports your flock, even when the seasons change their laying schedule.

🌭 HOT DOG FUNDRAISER! 🌭

Come out and support The Village Homeschool Co-op right here in Pelzer! ❤️

They’ll be selling hot dogs from 10 AM–3 PM to raise money for a family assistance fund within their co-op. These funds will help families who may be struggling with co-op fees or the cost of allowing their children to participate in field trips and activities.

The Village Homeschool is so much more than a school. They’re teaching children the importance of faith, service, giving back, volunteering, community, and life skills. Their days begin with Bible study and prayer, and they encourage their students to serve and make a difference in the Pelzer community. 🙏🏼❤️

So stop by, grab a hot dog 🌭, and support a wonderful group of local families and kids!

Every hot dog helps! Come hungry and support a great cause! ❤️
