Kisses did NOT want her picture taken, but this diva is finally out of here after 18 long weeks, and we are so relieved for her and happy for her new mama.

P.S.: her sister Rose is being fostered by staff and is still looking for her forever home - email us if you're interested in meeting her!

Get to know two of our newly adoptable puppies!

Zap and Zipper are 15 week old littermates picked up as strays. These two handsome fellas are working hard to gain weight and learning to enjoy all the good things that life has to offer a puppy.

Both of these boys are social, love toys, and are food motivated. Zipper is slightly higher energy than Zap, but both boys are playful, affectionate, and in an office setting, are not vocal nor overly destructive.

Zap is quite food motivated and is figuring out his luring skills quickly. If you are looking for a playful family dog that will chill out and be a couch potato once they reach adulthood, Zap is your guy. He has a major affinity for toys that squeak, crinkle, or are rope shaped, and he is eager to please and joyful-spirited. He's cuddly and he likes to lay across your lap and stare up at you with those big, golden eyes that scream "I love you. Do you love me back?"

Zipper is full of s***k and personality. He approaches new situations ready to learn as much as he can by sniffing around in each corner, but he makes sure to check in every thirty seconds or so, bounding over and placing his tiny puppy feet on your leg to stare at you, tail wagging hard and mouth open in a sweet grin. While he thinks jumping up on the couch is a fun game, rather than stick around to nap, he prefers to jump right back off of it and come skidding over to me (or a toy, whichever catches his eye first). He gives the sweetest little kisses, and he's such a fun dog to get to know.

Both of these boys will make wonderful, loving, loyal, and joyful family companions. Come to the shelter to meet them. You won't regret it! Email [email protected] with any questions about or our process.

Brahn had a couple hours of a break today from the heat and the shelter. The volunteer that took him out said that as always, he loads up and rides excellently, loves the creek, and is improving on his leash manners. Brahn would be the perfect dog to finish out the remainder of this sweltering summer with - no one is going to be more enthusiastic about spending time hunkered down at the creek than he is!

Honor was adopted today after 10 weeks here at the shelter! We are so happy for her! Congrats!

Sad news - Promise is back at the shelter, 100% fault free. Unforseen and sudden life circumstances changed, and her adopter brought her back to the place where she is safest. We know a lot more about her now, so hopefully her second wait for a new home will be much shorter!

Promise was described as:
•Housebroken
•Easy-going
•Quiet
•Great on a leash
•LOVES car rides
•Food-motivated
•Always at your side.

She would do well in a home with someone older or as a family dog. She is dog and cat friendly, and at a slight 60 lbs, could easy fit into your life. Promise is interested in toys - she will carry them into her bed - but hasn't quite figured out what to do with them after that! She is highly tolerant and a confident dog.

If you're looking for a companion that can match your moods and hobbies and thrives in social environments, consider Promise. She will transition easily and quickly into daily life with you!

Get to know newly adoptable dog Tandy!

Tandy is a bright & busy 4 year old hound mix. This 60 lb black and tan boy with his flowing gait and kind eyes is high energy and talkative. He is super playful and loves all types of toys. He is fairly food motivated and knows sit very well. He is even an expert treat catcher!

Tandy keeps a clean kennel, is kid friendly, and rides well in the car. So far, he is dog friendly, and we hope to add him to our large dog playgroups soon. Tandy is very environmentally focused and loves sniffing, so his leash-walking could use some work. He enjoys rolling around on the grass, tummy up, and he's inclined to roll around even more happily while accepting your tummy rubs.

Tandy is friendly and social, but he's not a needy or cuddly dog. This doesn't mean that he doesn't need or enjoy human interaction - in fact, like most dogs, he craves it! However, he is the type of dog that is going to prefer a connection built on a foundation of play and working together instead of sitting on your couch and cuddling.
