We just received this photo from one of our extended families that we wanted to share with everyone. This is one of our pups that was recently adopted into a family with some challenges. Their Beagle had recently passed away. Their boxer, Piper, was very sad. This boxer also had some behavioral issues, and they were concerned about bringing a puppy into their family. They were very concerned that the boxer would not accept the Puppy, or they wouldn't integrate successfully.
We talked extensively with this family about their situation, and we developed a plan for one of our puppies that was very low-key, and already well acquainted with much larger dogs and at ease with much larger canines. As usual, God intervened, and he chose this puppy for them. They brought their daughter and they bonded almost immediately. The daughter insisted on naming the puppy "Boone." I think the mother had some reservations about the name, but I felt it was an absolutely perfect name for the personality of the puppy! We talked at length about a plan to introduce the dogs together, and most importantly about patience and love without any kind of corporal punishment. We felt that we were on the same page with the family and we knew it would work out, even if they had some speed bumps ahead. With their training and devotion to their boxer Piper, this Puppy has now become an integral part of their family.
We actually kept this family's payment in the drawer for about 3 1/2 weeks. We were concerned that they might have to return the puppy, that Piper might not accept the puppy. But, of course, it all worked out. This is just the icing on the cake for us! We are so thankful for families like this that plan ahead and are willing to work with the puppies and train them so that they can have many many years of love and affection from our pups! ❤️
