My hibiscus are in bloom, and they are putting on quite a show! 🌺 I love the size and beautiful pink color of these flowers.

What’s growing in your garden right now? Vegetables, fruit, flowers, or maybe something exotic? Let me know, and drop a picture in the comments. I would love to see it!

Not f**kin’ with lettuce right now? I don’t blame you 😂
Here’s a fresh salad that won’t have you sh*ttin’ all over yourself—and you probably already have everything in the crib:
Cucumbers, tomatoes, red onion, peppers, salt, black pepper, a little vinegar, a splash of olive oil, and just a touch of sugar.
Add a little garlic, fresh dill, parsley, or cilantro if you’re feeling fancy. Mix it all up and let it chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes so those flavors can come together.
Oh, and I like feta on mine—but that’s my business.
That’s it. That’s all. No lettuce, no problem. Enjoy!

Most people are surprised to learn there are hundreds of varieties of lettuce grown around the world. From crisphead and romaine to butterhead, looseleaf, oakleaf, and Batavia, each has its own texture, flavor, color, and growing habits.

That's one of the things I'm enjoying most about my hydroponic garden. Instead of growing just one type, I'm experimenting with several varieties to see which ones perform best in a vertical hydroponic system. Every harvest is a chance to compare flavor, growth rate, and how well each variety regrows after cutting.

Today's harvest turned into a fresh salad picked just minutes before dinner. It doesn't get much fresher than that.

Gardening is one of those hobbies where you're always learning, and that's part of what makes it so rewarding.

What's your favorite type of lettuce?

The Monarch Mansion is officially open! 🦋
A few years ago I started planting native milkweed to help pollinators. Today I checked the garden and found one of the first monarch caterpillars of the season enjoying the accommodations.
It's pretty amazing to think this little guy will eventually transform into one of North America's most recognizable butterflies.
Sometimes conservation isn't complicated. Plant a few native flowers, skip the pesticides, and let nature do the rest.
The Monarch Mansion has its first tenant. Hopefully many more are on the way.

From garden to skillet 🌱🍅🫑
This mornings fresh homemade scramble is packed with colorful peppers, tomatoes, herbs, and sausage, simple ingredients turned into something amazing. Urban gardening isn’t just about growing food… it’s about creating meals that are fresh, healthy, and full of flavor right at home.

Nothing beats cooking with ingredients you grew yourself. 🔥🥘
