Emergencies can happen anytime—make sure your pets are included in your fire safety plan! Here are some essential tips:
🐾 Have an Escape Plan: Know the quickest way out and assign someone to grab your pets in an emergency.
🚪 Keep Collars & Leashes Handy: In case of evacuation, having them ready helps prevent escape or injury.
🔥 Never Leave Open Flames Unattended: Pets can accidentally tip over candles or get too close to fireplaces.
🚨 Place Pet Alert Stickers on Windows: Let firefighters know how many pets are inside your home.
📂 Store Important Documents Safely: Keep vaccination records and vet contacts in a fireproof/waterproof container.
🏥 Get Your Pet Checked After a Fire: Smoke inhalation and burns aren’t always visible—if your pet was in a house fire, have them evaluated by a veterinarian immediately.
A little preparation can save lives! For veterinary emergencies, call (252) 991-6560.

🎆 A Busy 4th at Points East VSH! 🇺🇸

Yesterday was another incredibly busy holiday – with over 50 patients seen, our team was hard at work ensuring pets got the care they needed. We're incredibly grateful to our clients for their patience and kindness throughout the day as we navigated a full caseload.

Despite the hustle, Olivia, RVT, and Amaya, Pharmacy Technician, were able to pause for just a moment to show a little 4th of July spirit ❤️🤍💙

As we head into the weekend, we anticipate continued high volumes. If you're unsure whether your pet needs to come in, please consider using our online triage tool to help guide your decision:

🎉🐾 Happy Retirement, K9 Eko! 🐾🎉

On June 1st, K9 Eko officially retired from the City of Wilson after a decorated career serving our community with unwavering loyalty and strength. Just before retirement, Eko underwent surgery with one of our surgeons, Dr. Brenda Austin, and we’re thrilled to share that at his recent recheck, he’s healing beautifully and doing great!

It has been an absolute privilege to care for Eko—heroes like him remind us why we do what we do. 💙

Eko will now enjoy his well-earned retirement alongside his trusted K9 handler, Officer Fulghum. Thank you, Eko, for your service and dedication. You’ve earned all the belly rubs and naps ahead. 🦴🐶

We are proud to serve those who serve our community 🇺🇸
