The most recent update by the FDA on diet-associated cardiomyopathy was June 27, 2019. However, today Kansas State University hosted a forum to examine the potential causes of non-hereditary dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) in dogs. If you are concerned about what your fur-child is eating, home-cooked diets can be a good option... IF prepared properly.

Making homemade dog food may seem easy, but experts suggest you consult your dog's vet before making any changes to their diet.

This information is not especially new, but it is so important to the cardiac health of your pets, that it bears repeating. Remember, it's not just about "grain-free" diets. Cardiologists are diagnosing devastating cardiac disease in pets eating "BEG" diets (Boutique brands, Exotic ingredients, and Grain-free diets) EVERY DAY. https://www.fda.gov/animal-veterinary/news-events/fda-investigation-potential-link-between-certain-diets-and-canine-dilated-cardiomyopathy

“Synchrony” describes harmonious, cooperative function. In cardiology, synchrony is typically used to describe optimal, cooperative contraction of cardiac muscle fibers, or optimal, co-operative timing of atrial and ventricular contraction; both of which are needed for ideal cardiac performance. At Synchrony Veterinary Cardiology, we work cooperatively with our hospitals to improve and optimize the cardiac care of those patients, for whom traditional referral to a cardiologist is not an option.
Our mission is your success!
