🧡 1Y old Chihuahua “Cone” here! Cone definitely gave us the runaround! She and her buddy Crispy were out running the town as strays. We were lucky enough to catch Crispy first, but he was pretty beat up from life on the streets.

We kept spotting Cone, but this clever girl wasn’t falling for any of our tricks! A volunteer had traps set for weeks, stocked with all kinds of stinky, tempting food. But guess what finally did the trick? Fried chicken and okra….Sometimes, the way to a girl’s heart really is through her stomach!

Now that Cone is safe, we’re getting to see what a sweetheart she is! She’s super friendly, loves everyone, and is ready to find a family of her very own.

👻 Did someone scream puppies?! These cuties were born right before entering the shelter, where we pulled them and Momma (multiple weeks ago)! Momma is single & mingling- AKA living her best life. Puppies will make their debut at PetSuites The Woodlands 10/24 from 5-7PM! Make sure to come see us & Petsuites!

🧡Meet Toto! 3.5 pounds of absolute chaos and charm.

Toto is a 3–5 year old Yorkie who apparently missed the memo that he weighs less than a bag of flour. This boy is READY FOR LIFE. People? Loves them. Nice kids? Yep. Going somewhere? He’s already got his shoes on. 💃

Toto came to us as a stray from a local shelter, and we’re pretty sure he’s making up for lost time. He’s happy, wiggly, rambunctious, and convinced he’s a much bigger dog than he actually is.

He’s the kind of dog who wants to go on long walks, meet everybody, and tag along to whatever you’ve got going on. Sitting home when there’s a whole world out there? Not really his thing.

Toto would do best as an only dog or with another small dog who can appreciate his enthusiasm without getting steamrolled by 3.5 pounds of pure excitement!

If you want a tiny sidekick with a big personality who will keep you laughing and make sure you’re never lonely, Toto is your guy.

Toto is neutered, had a dental, current on all
Vaccines and heartworm prevention & chipped.

🧡PEPPER NEEDS HIS FAMILY 🧡

Pepper is a 6 year old, 8lb Chihuahua mix who came to us with 9 other dogs from a horrific hoarding situation. His past is heartbreaking, and the trauma he endured is something no dog should ever experience. Luckily the family finally took this woman’s dogs away, but it was just too late.

Today, we learned that the bump on Pepper’s chest isn’t just a bump. It’s been growing over the last couple weeks in foster and we now know why. He has multiple old, healed fractures of his sternum as well as broken & detached ribs. One of his ribs now protrudes outward because of the way it healed. His injuries are consistent with significant past trauma and abuse such as being kicked super hard in the chest, MULTIPLE times! The vet said there is not much we can do but to protect the area from being bumped.

The good news? Pepper can still have a wonderful quality of life. His condition is permanent, but it is not expected to negatively affect his overall quality of life. He simply needs a family who will understand his history, protect his fragile area, and most importantly, show him the love he has been missing. He will need a quiet home w no rough housing or play . A gentle, easy home for him to lay his quiet delicate head.

After everything Pepper has survived, we want his next chapter to be forever.

We are also asking for donations to help cover Pepper’s medical care and the care of the other dogs who came from this situation. Every dollar helps us continue saying YES to dogs who desperately need someone to say YES to them.

FROM RESCUE TO PEOPLE MAGAZINE! 🐾

Champ, formerly known as My Chi & Me’s Chunk, found his way to us in mid 2023. When he arrived in rescue, his back leg had suffered so much trauma that amputation was necessary.

But Champ didn’t let that slow him down. He healed beautifully here in Texas before heading to one of our northern rescue partners, where his life completely changed.

There, Champ found the most perfect mom and the life we always hoped he would have. Today, he is a certified therapy dog, living his absolute best life and bringing love and comfort to everyone he meets.

And now… CHAMP HAS MADE IT TO PEOPLE MAGAZINE! 🎉

He has been named one of the 10 Cutest Rescue Dogs in the U.S. and we couldn’t be more proud of this little guy!

It’s only Monday y’all…Here’s a funny one for you…

A woman messaged us about surrendering her two Shih Tzu mixes because she is facing homelessness and is currently unemployed. The dogs are not current on any vaccines (it’s been years since they’ve seen a vet) and are NOT spayed.

So far, we’re understanding- pretty normal. We still want to help.

Then she asks what kind of “facility” we are.

We explain that we are a foster based rescue. We do not have a shelter or a building. The dogs we take in live in our homes with our families and other foster animals, and we are all volunteers.

Then comes the demand for a phone call.
Then a house tour.
Then questions about whether we use crates.
Then… silence. 👻

Then comes back and tells us the two dogs have littermate syndrome and are attacking each other.

Okay. We still say we can help. We’ll separate them, get them vetted, and get them spayed. No problem. That’s what rescue is for.

But then comes the never ending barrage of questions.

We explain, again, that we are VOLUNTEERS. Y’all, we have jobs, families, foster dogs, vet appointments, transport, applications, cleaning, feeding, medications and approximately 47 other things happening at any given moment. 😂

Apparently, because we cannot sit on the social media all day and answer questions all day, we must have “bad intentions.” And this is clearly a red flag 🚩. 😂

Let’s clear something up.

We are not a government funded facility.
We are not a shelter with staff sitting behind a desk.
We are not available 24/7.
And we certainly aren’t obligated to prove our intentions by giving someone a tour of our homes or answering you all day.

We are volunteers with lives who also are trying to save dogs.

You either want the help or you don’t.

And if you don’t?

Meet Molly! 🧡

Molly is a 10 year-old, 9 pound Yorkie mix with plenty of pep left in her step! She’s super spry, spunky, and full of personality and she isn’t afraid to let you know if something doesn’t meet her approval.

She’s perfectly content hanging out with her dog friends and her people, enjoys short walks, and would love a home where she can be part of the family and enjoy the good life she always deserved.

Molly was poorly neglected in her previous life, but those days are behind her. She has already undergone a full mammary chain removal surgery and a complete dental, giving this little lady a much needed fresh start. She has one final vet visit coming up this week to make sure she is fully healed and ready for her next chapter.

Hopefully, Molly will soon be leaving her foster home not because she isn’t loved there, but because her forever family is waiting for her.

Senior dogs still have so much life, love, and personality left to give. Molly is proof of that. Could you be the family that gives this spunky little girl the happy ending she deserves?
