High Plains Humane Society

High Plains Humane Society "THE GREATNESS OF A SOCIETY AND ITS MORAL PROGRESS CAN BE JUDGED BY THE WAY ITS ANIMALS ARE TREATED." As part of the program, each pet is spayed or neutered.

High Plains Humane Society works in Curry County and the surrounding areas to reduce animal cruelty, exploitation and neglect. We advocate for sensible public policies that bring forth positive changes in our community, and we educate the general public on the importance of being responsible pet owners. We are constantly striving to make this world a better place for our furry friends, and we netw

ork with other organizations who share our beliefs. We established a continual, low-income spay and neuter program in the community for pet owners who could not otherwise afford this service. Sterilization is the key to solving the region's over-population and excessively high euthanasia numbers. We partner with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and their staff to provide quality care for each pet. Additionally they are given important vaccinations to prevent illness and the spreading of diseases, and a microchip to assist in getting a pet back home if it ever becomes lost.
