💚 It’s National Mutt Day — and we’re giving a big tail-wagging shoutout to all the beautiful mixed-breed pups out there!

Mutts often wait longer in shelters than purebred dogs…
But their hearts? Just as big.
Their loyalty? Unmatched.
Their personalities? One of a kind.

Today is all about celebrating them and raising awareness about the joy of adopting a mixed-breed dog.

🐾 Drop a photo of your marvelous mutt in the comments!

Let’s fill this feed with unique faces and unconditional love.

We couldn’t be more grateful for our wonderful clients — or prouder of Dr. Griggs and our entire team for going above & beyond, even on the busiest days.

Urgent care? Comfort? A place that feels calm even during scary times? That’s always our goal.

Thank you for trusting us with your sweet Great Dane. And thank you for sharing these words that made our whole team smile (okay fine, AND tear up a little).

☀️ Summer = fun… but let’s keep it safe for our four-legged friends!

Here’s how to beat the heat:
🐾 Walk early (before 9 AM is best!)
💧 Keep fresh water available at all times
🔥 Test the pavement with your hand — if it’s hot for you, it’s too hot for paws

Keep tails wagging, not overheating.
💚 Questions about summer safety? We’ve got you covered.

Not all pets show stress by growling or hiding.

Some of the earliest signs of anxiety are easy to miss:

✔️ Yawning (even when they’re not tired)
✔️ Lip licking, panting, turning away
✔️ Extra shedding or “shaking off” like they’re wet

At ArkVets, we watch for all these signals — and use gentle, Fear-Free techniques to help your pet feel safe and supported every step of the way.

💚 Worried about stress at your next visit? We’re here to help.

Warm weather means more adventures outside — but it also means more fleas, ticks & mosquitoes. 🦟
These tiny pests can cause big problems like Lyme disease, ehrlichiosis, heartworm & more.

Even indoor pets aren’t safe. Fleas hop in with you. Mosquitoes love open doors. And ticks hitch rides on shoes & clothes.

💚 Let us help protect your furry family with trusted prevention.

💚 Recently, Dr. DeCamp performed a splenectomy on a patient right here at ArkVets.

A splenectomy is a surgery to remove the spleen — an organ that helps filter blood and fight infections. While the spleen plays an important role, sometimes it develops serious problems like:

✨ Large tumors (benign or malignant)
✨ A rupture from trauma or disease
✨ Severe infections or immune conditions

In these cases, removing the spleen can be truly lifesaving.

🩺 Most pets adjust well without their spleen because other organs (like the liver and lymph nodes) take over many of its functions. With careful monitoring and Fear-Free handling, many pets are back to tail wags and gentle walks sooner than you’d think.

Have questions about your pet’s health — or a surgery they might need?

📞 Call us anytime. Dr. DeCamp and our compassionate team are here to guide you.
