These pups are loving our Obility course. Obility is a great way to strengthen the bond between you and your dog as well as helping your dog gain confidence. If you would like to sign up for our Obility, keep an eye on the portal as these are drop in classes. The next scheduled Obility is July 31st at 5:15.

Please please please watch your dogs this week/weekend. Even if you have a fenced in yard, bring them out on a leash.

No comforting them. If they get scared, throw a party, grab some yummy treats and do some obedience, play a game with them, ...

Grooming! Yes, let's talk about grooming. It's important to get your dog groomed or, if you have a dog with short hair, at least bathed and a pedi. Grooming is important for maintaining a dog's health, comfort, and overall well-being. It will also help reduce shedding. The earlier in your dog's life they start going to the groomer, the easier it will make it for them to be comfortable with it. Even if you have a young pup that doesn't need a hair trim, getting a bath is important.
For grooming and pedis, I bring my dogs to Shampooch Dog Grooming. They have locations in Dartmouth and Tiverton.

We've had many people request nose work classes and we aim to please so here it is!

The sport of Nose Work is based on dogs being able to detect a wide variety of scents. In Nose Work, dogs search for cotton swabs (that are in containers) saturated with essential oils such as Birch, Anise, and Clove. Once the dogs are taught to identify the scent, the containers are hidden out of sight in a pre-determined search area and the dog has to find them. Teamwork is necessary: when the dog finds the scent, she has to communicate the find to the handler.
