The phones are completely down. Emery TelCom was called yesterday about our call quality (we have VOIP) and said they would be working on things today. Our staff members have spotted Emery trucks in the neighborhood and we're hoping they're turning things off and back on 😮‍💨 We appreciate your continued patience, trust us, the staff has been extremely stressed with the phone problems. We're definitely not out in the club sippin' that bub with Lady Gaga

📞 Our phones are acting up again! Maybe it's the fire 🔥 Maybe it's the weather 🌡️Maybe it's Maybelline 💄

Once again, we have landlines so we can't really move our phones around for a better signal 🙃 We apologize for the inconvenience and ask for your patience because it's just as taxing for the staff 🙏🏻

Good afternoon everyone! We are unfortunately going to have to reschedule our July spay/neuter clinic in Naturita, Colorado. We are moving it to August 14th. There are concerns about highway 46 being closed due to the Deer Creek Fire and with how early the mobile crew has to get up and get everything ready, we decided it was better to not chance it, worry about getting stuck in Naturita (as much as we love you!), or being in the way of the fire crews. We are calling everyone and getting people moved around. Be safe and remember - - Only YOU can prevent wildfires!

03/07/2025

We are experiencing some technical difficulties 🙃 Our phones are receiving calls but many people are unable to hear us. We have been told that other areas such as Monticello and Nucla are also experiencing some odd phone problems as well. If you can't hear us, we're not sure what's going on but we're on a land line so we can't move the phones around or hold them up in the air for whatever smidgen of service might be floating around 😸 Could be the storm, could be Emery working on the fiber, could be Mercury in retrograde, so we just ask for your patience and good vibes!

Good afternoon everyone! We're dealing with the new system, we may or may not keep it because of some other factors, but for now....

Please be patient with the text notifications. We have not done a system purge of inactive clients or patients for a *very* long time and part of that is because there are A LOT of animals that we don't see very often that pop back in after a few years (we only see some pets every 3 years for rabies vaccinations and if we inactivate them because we haven't seen them for a year, they won't be notified of their expiring vaccination).

It's also difficult being a tourist area because while we could inactivate people with out of town addresses, we often end up seeing then again for boarding and we don't need multiple accounts for the same people and sometimes something is clicked on or off in the computer that affects our ability to find inactive clients. Such is life and we'll try to come up with something that works best for everyone.

We are also unaware of when pets pass away if we are not notified. We do our best to keep up with things, but many of you have seen how busy the staff can be, which is why we've had difficulty going through and purging the client/patient lists.

In the meantime, we just asked for patients as we figure out the system and go through and activating patients and clients as appropriate. Thank you so much and we hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Part of our new system is now live! There will be some kinks to work out, we hope you will be patient as we all figure this out together 😸 Some of the system could not be set up until the database was synced and so we have been working on it to try and make it as least annoying as possible. If you notice anything funny, please let us know! We may not be able to check the Facebook very closely, but we would appreciate it!

As more features come online we will keep you updated!

We are updating to Weave! This involves a WHOLE NEW PHONE SYSTEM and we're really hoping this goes smoothly, but we do ask for your patience as we will very likely experience some hiccups as we get this figured out. You may experience
Not being able to call for a brief moment while our phones switch over
Longer holding times until all our phones are connected and the lines are open
Our phone tree may not work properly
The voicemail may not work properly

A couple of the staff members are actually involved in setting this up (a new experience for them!) and if you do experience a hiccup please (nicely 🥺) let us know so we can fix it!

We appreciate your patience and hope once everything is onboarded properly you enjoy the new system! We will let you know about our new features as we become more familiar with them!

11/03/2025

We are still experiencing phone difficulties, one of our techs has been on the line with support most of the morning trying to plug things in and reset everything to no avail. If you need a prescription refill or have left a prescription refill, please call the regular number (435-259-8710) and speak with someone at our front desk, don't leave a message because we can't access that 😿

We're still having calls forwarded to a cell phone, so we can only handle one call at a time (usually we have 4 lines and just not enough technicians to answer all the lines).

We'll keep you updated on our phone saga and appreciate your continued patience

11/03/2025

We're still working on our phone lines, we currently have our service provider forwarding the calls to a cell phone. Please be aware if you're not able to get through that we can only forward to one cellular device. Usually we have 4 lines we can receive calls from (having available staff for those 4 lines is another story...) so if we have a busy phone day while this problem is getting sorted out, we apologize! Please be patient, we hope this is fixed soon!

11/03/2025

Our phone lines are down, we have a technician on the phone with our provider to get it straightened out as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience!

Over 30 Years in the Making

Dr. Sorensen graduated from Colorado State University in 1983. After working in Arizona for a year he came to Moab and opened the Moab Veterinary Clinic. Dr Sorensen loves working with animals, small and big, and the people who belong to them. When he first opened the clinic it was only him and his wife, Sheryl. Sheryl is the key element that keeps things in the clinic running smoothly from day to day. Having started the business side by side with Dr. Sorensen she knows all the ins and outs to the business. She often works right alongside her husband as a technician and/or receptionist on top of all her other responsibilities as office manager. Initially Dr. Sorensen and Sheryl worked out of the garage until they could afford to add on to the practice. Since the start they have expanded the facilities and upgraded their equipment multiple times. 2013 saw the addition of the mobile trailer to the Moab Veterinary Clinic, which has since become indispensable, providing veterinary care in smaller rural communities. The mobile clinic makes a visit to Monticello once a week on Tuesdays (barring weather and fairgrounds activities) and Green River once a month on the first Thursday (barring weather).

The Moab Veterinary Clinic proudly serves Southeastern Utah and Southwestern Colorado. We also work in conjunction with the Moab Valley Humane Society, providing spay/neuter clinics. In 2017 we partnered with Hoof and Paw in Nucla, Colorado and brought our mobile clinic to Nucla to hold a spay/neuter clinic and have been providing spay/neuter clinic services periodically ever since. We hold vaccination clinics once a year in Moab, Monticello, and Green River, Utah. The Moab Veterinary Clinic also offers endoscopy services, ultrasound for large and small animals, digital x-ray, basic small animal dentistry, boarding for small animals, emergency services, and many surgical procedures. We work with many ranchers in the surrounding area, offering ultrasound for pregnancy checking, USDA accredited veterinarians to perform Bangs (brucellosis) vaccinations and tattooing, Coggins (Equine Infectious Anemia) testing, bovine trichomoniasis (trich) testing, equine teeth floating, bull fertility testing, and pulmonary arterial pressure testing for cattle (brisket disease).

In 2017, we worked with Vets First Choice to provide an online pharmacy option to our clients. Our online pharmacy offers many products not normally stocked in our brick and mortar (or mobile) clinic and offers auto shipping on many items! In 2020 we have partnered with Hill’s to Home to offer delivery on Hill’s Science Diet and Prescription Diet foods.

If you have questions about any of the services offered at the Moab Veterinary Clinic, don’t hesitate to call or stop by!
