Rippling Waters Chesapeakes

HR Rippling Waters Brigid MH FDC BCAT CGCA CGCU TKN ATT WDQ ("Brigid") earned two more Master Hunter qualifications at the Lower Alabama Hunting Retriever Club tests this week. With these two passes, Brigid qualifies for the 2026 Master Amateur Invitational. She has now passed all eight of the Master tests she has run.

This caps a good fall for Brigid. After September's Qualifying 3rd place at the ACC Field Trial Specialty, she was one of only three dogs to earn the Working Dog Qualified title at October's ACC National Specialty Show. At that event she also won Best in Field Trial Classes and won the Rally Novice class. In November she earned a point at a regular dog show (now needing just three single points for her conformation Championship).

Alan happily shows off his and Brigid's first place ribbon and trophy for Rally Novice. He didn't get to walk the course ahead of time because he was in the obedience ring at the time. Neither Alan nor Brigid had ever before stepped foot in a rally ring - they scored a perfect 100!! American Chesapeake Club National Specialty show 2025 in Ocala, FL. (This team also qualified in Beginner Novice Obedience moments before - I guess Brigid used that as her warm up....)

Kathy and Elliott won first place today in the Beginner Novice class of the obedience trial at the American Chesapeake Club National Specialty Show in Ocala, Florida. This qualification completed Elliott's Beginner Novice title. Kathy and Elliott also qualified in Rally Intermediate.

On her way home to Florida from the American Chesapeake Club Field Trial Specialty in Burnham, Maine, Brigid stopped at Chesapeake College in Maryland. Since she already has her Masters (Master Hunter title), she brought along her 3rd place ribbon from the Qualifying stake to show the good folks at the college she is ready for advanced studies.

HR Rippling Waters Brigid MH BCAT CGC TKN ("Brigid") was awarded third place in a very competitive Qualifying stake at the 2025 American Chesapeake Club Field Trial Specialty held near Burnam, Maine. Although she went out in a difficult fourth series of the Amateur stake, she definitely showed she belonged to be running with the big dogs by doing an excellent job on a really technical third series water blind.

These were Brigid's very first attempts at Qualifying and Amateur stakes. We are delighted with her performance, especially considering that her training for field trial setups began in earnest only after completion of her Master Hunter title this spring. Brigid is owned by Kathleen Luthy and Alan Luthy. Brigid was bred by Kathleen and trained/handled by Alan.

We received something fun in the mail today - a special gold Bred-By-Exhibitor medallion from AKC. We've made quite a few AKC champions over the years, but Elliott was apparently the tenth one we finished exclusively from the Bred-By-Exhibitor class.
