The Camarillo nosework class had to do a double blind search with 1 hide tonight.
Double blind means that the handler didn't know where the hide was and I wasn't there either to coach them. I was running another search in parallel for this group.
Handlers were instructed to reward the dog where they saw the dog indicating/alerting, then take a picture of the location to show me. If they got it wrong, they had to redo the search on their own again.
I am happy to report that all the handlers trusted their dogs.
Search area was the entire side of this building in the picture.

The Ventura nosework class did as their final exercise tonight, this single hide search, where the hide was taped to the wall, but surrounded by various objects they had previously searched.
The 3 sighthounds in my class searched all the objects extensively, up to a few minutes, whereas the hunting hounds went straight to the outside corner you see on the right in these pictures, picked up the scent, followed it alongside the wall and a few seconds later, hit the hide on the wall.
The 3 labs in the class fell in the middle of the total time it took them to source the hide, as well as how many objects they had to check.
