Join us for a five-day intensive Therapy Dog Clinic!
The number of working therapy dogs is on the rise! It seems people are beginning to realize just how important these specially trained dogs are when it comes to healing the human heart, mind, and soul.
We have come across many issues surrounding therapy dog training, certification, and work, in our area and want to provide hands on, in depth training for current and upcoming therapy dog handlers.
Our five-day intensive clinic will cover everything you need to know about therapy dog work!
Classroom learning and hands on training will be available to dogs that have completed the prerequisite training (CGC, CGCA, and CGCU) and love human interaction. Limited audit spots will be available for those that are interested in therapy work, have an upcoming therapy dog prospect, or just want to observe therapy dogs in action and learn more about the entire training/certification process.
Networking: Those attending will have the option to be added to our private page. Here you are given the opportunity to connect with other therapy dog handlers in the area that will be completing our in depth five day clinic/training or have been an active part of our Wabash Valley Therapy Dogs Team.
We want to provide our therapy teams with exceptional training and a wealth of knowledge to better themselves as a team!
AGENDA:

Monday, October 26th at 6pm: Classroom learning (handlers only). PowerPoint presentation covering canine stress signals, canine body language, therapy legality, training process, certification, visit etiquettes (retirement facility, hospital, schools, funerals, crisis, etc.), and much more! We will have water and snacks available.
Wednesday, October 28th at 6pm: Hands on training with the dogs at Dobbs Park (weather permitting). We will cover obedience commands, greeting etiquettes, engagement, etc. We will be completing a facility visit after training where we will be implementing the classroom learning from Monday.
Friday, October 30th at 6pm: We will be completing a facility visit this evening.
Monday, November 2nd at 6pm: Hospital Visit in Paris, IL.
Wednesday, November 4th at 6pm: We will be completing a facility visit at Rose-Hulman.
