There are so many reasons to have a veterinarian make a house call. You find it difficult to carve out 2 hours from your busy day to schlep the kids and critters to the vet between piano lessons and soccer practice (a house call can take as little as 30mins start to finish). You may have an older pet that finds it difficult to travel or is difficult to load into the car. It feels like an eternally

long trip to the vet when your passenger is a yowling cat. You or your pet would rather not leave the comfort of your own home to receive veterinary care. Whatever the reason, I can provide compassionate care at a competitive price while thoroughly addressing your questions and concerns. I have lived in Colorado since 1997. I grew up along the coast in Wilmington, NC. I studied biology and chemistry at Appalachian State University and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1991. I have been practicing veterinary medicine since 1996 when I graduated from North Carolina State University-College of Veterinary Medicine. I am passionate about educating clients about preventative medicine and offering options to find a solution that will work best for people and their pets. I want to empower people to make informed decisions allowing them to provide the best life possible for their pets. Please feel free to contact me to inquire about my services. Although routine medical care is most suitable to housecalls, there are many medical conditions and circumstances I feel are very appropriately seen as a house call. Unfortunately, medical emergencies that require significant diagnostic work (with quick results) are best seen in a veterinary hospital. Although when in doubt, ask!

Our Rangers over at Union Reservoir rescued an American White Pelican that swallowed a fishing lure and had the fishing line wrapped around it's wing and foot. The pelican was transported by Animal Control to Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation Center where it underwent surgery and will hopefully be released back at Union Reservoir once it is healed. This is a good time to remind visitors to our parks about the Leave No Trace principle #3: Dispose of waste properly. Fishing lures and fishing line should to disposed of in available fishing line recycling containers or placed in the trash, not left on the ground where it causes a major risk to wildlife. Leave No Trace principle #6: Respect wildlife - please don't fish right next to pelicans!
