After a very full week of showing at Loudoun Benefit, we are thrilled with our horses and riders, and love that we can have such a great time together while showing.

Some highlights from the week include Leigh Ann moving up to 0.85m with Naomi, Grace and Crack the Shadows taking 3rd at 1.10m, Eden winning the Older 3’3 Junior Hunter under saddle with Understated, Eden placing 3rd in the MHSA Hunt Seat Medal on Charon, Riley and Marque My Points taking 3rd in the Gittings, Zuko (Gin Twist) earning top ribbons with Sarah in the Opportunity classes, Taylor and Las Vegas winning a 1.20m class for reserve in the division, Taylor and Vivian both finishing in the ribbons in the .95m Junior/Amateur Jumpers, and Tricia stepping into the show ring for the first time with a lovely ride!

We have to spotlight Vivian for her successful trip to IEA Nationals at the National Horse Center in St. Louis. She came away with a 2nd place finish after a beautiful ride in the Future Intermediate on the Flat, not to mention a strong season and a lot of great work on position and accuracy to get there. Congrats, Vivian! This is a huge accomplishment and we are so proud!

This past weekend at the Blue Rock Classic at Swan Lake, our riders and horses continued their great work together. Chloe and Naomi earned top ribbons at 0.60m and 0.70, including a win in the 0.60m. Vivian and Prata Gee had good rounds at 0.80m and 0.90m. Alexis and Mr. Fahrenheit were strong together at 0.90m. Taylor and Las Vegas rode to a 1st place finish on Friday in the 1.30 Junior/Amateur. In the hunter and equitation rings, Natalie and Castlebridge Oden moved up to 3’3” with good rides, including a 2nd in the Large Junior handy round. Eden and Understated also went well in the Large Juniors, taking 2nd in the under saddle. Reese and Dockside continued their work together with productive rounds at 2’6” and a nice ride in the Non-Pro Derby.

We had such a good time at the Berryville Horse Show at DeVaux Farms! Some highlights include Meghan and Ray earning champion in the Low Hunters, Sarah and Zuko winning an over fences class, Erica returning to the show ring after a decades long break, Izzy and Fiona taking first in their large under saddle class, Margaret and Grace showing for the first time, Anisah trying the hunters for the first time, and Maddie and Superstitious winning champion in the Pre-Short Stirrup!

It’s been a busy few weeks and we have a lot to catch up on!

At Lexington Spring Encore, Taylor and Las Vegas won the 1.35m classic and earned champion in the division, Jocelynn and Lyonessa JJ showed together for the second time with strong and educational rides, including a 2nd place in the VHSA Medal. Leigh Ann and Naomi moved up to 0.70m with good rounds. Tessa and Carqui successfully moved up to the 1.0m. Grace and Crack the Shadows put in good rides at 1.10m.

Please join us in cheering on our two IEA Nationals competitors this weekend! Riley will be showing in the individual Open over fences tomorrow, and Vivian will be showing in the individual Future Intermediate flat on Saturday. We are so proud of all they’ve accomplished to make it to this show, and excited to see them continue their hard work in the coming days 💙❤️

Very needed. The journey is the important part. Keeping perspective, working on fundamentals, setting realistic goals, achieving incremental improvement from class to class and show to show…these are the things that matter.

I’ve explained that the size of the fences does not equate to who she is as a rider. A bigger fence doesn’t reflect her horsemanship, work ethic or ability to ride a wide variety of horses. I’ve reminded her that financial limitations have influenced her horse journey. She hasn’t had a consi...

Clairvaux had a busy but good weekend at McDonough on Saturday and Red Gate on Sunday with a lot of firsts and a lot of big accomplishments!

At McDonough, Vivian and Tate showed together for the first time, earning champion in the 0.80m. Chloe and Naomi also attended their first show together, placing 1st and 2nd in the 0.65m. Leigh Ann also showed Naomi at 0.70m and built on the progress she’s been making lately. Rae and Zeke showed together for the first time in three years, with great rounds at 0.80m and 0.90m. Grace and Crackle went clear at 1.0m and 1.10m. In the equitation, Eden and Charlie and Carrie and FreeG put in good work and solid rides.

On Sunday, our Dolly made her horse show debut with rides from Meghan, with good trips at 2ft. Pickles and Sarah earned good ribbons at 2ft and 2’3”, including a 2nd in the under saddle. Katy and Trio showed together for the first time, earning champion at 2ft. Victoria moved up to 2ft with Frankie, and they put in some lovely rounds. Maddie and Lucky earned champion in the Pre-Short stirrup their first time out together. Finally, Amelia and Panda closed out the day with strong and successful rides in the Short Stirrup.

Additionally, we had so much support this weekend from non-showing riders, and we are so grateful for their help and positivity all weekend.

Happy Valentine’s Day! At our annual Valentine’s Day party, riders made valentines for their favorite horses (and cat), solved riddles, and took photos at our photo booth. In case you missed it, don’t worry, the card making station and scavenger hunt will still be available for the next few days. We want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to show our horses how much they are loved ❤️🩷🤍
