Out of a saucy litter of 11, each named after a favorite condiment, Mayo is the last little pup still waiting for a forever home. While all her siblings have found their happily ever afters, Mayo is still here—so incredibly sweet, and wondering when it’ll be her turn.

She’s everything you could want in a best friend: playful, affectionate, and full of puppy charm. Mayo loves snuggles, silly zoomies, and making her people laugh. She’s been patiently watching the others leave one by one… now it’s her moment to shine.

We are over the moon today with our little "Ham," who was adopted this morning!

Ham has a big sister who will teach him all he needs to know (she is also deaf) and his new dad, Andrew Alvesteffer, is going to give him the most amazing life, full of adventure and love, love, love! What a true pleasure to meet you today and experience such compassion and dedication!

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We can't wait to see the adventures of Lily and Ham 🥰🥰🥰

Doggie play date resumes after heat wave!

The hot, humid days can be tough, especially for our furry friends. But today, with cooler, safer temps and a drop in humidity, dogs got out to play today...resuming our famous Doggie Playdates!

I don't know who has more fun....staff or dogs? Lol....both!
Today they even got to eat some tasty watermelon🤣

Thanks Stefanie, Nick, Kendra and Kaycee for a fabulous afternoon with the dogs. They are tired pups tonight🥰

Fall is right around the corner and we are losing several staff members who are heading back to school😔🙂

So now we need to fill some "big shoes!"
PoundBuddies is hiring for part time work. Shifts are either 8am - noon or 4pm - 8pm.

Interested candidates:
MUST have some sort of work experience (does not have to be aninal related)

MUST be dependable!!!!

Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Strong desire to work with animals, which includes a LOT of cleaning doggie doo doo!🤣💩

Lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of dog walking!

"Boone" is a happy, healthy, and.VERY handsome hound dog who has already captured all of our hearts !

Boone maintains a very tidy kennel and is impeccably groomed. He likes to look his best at all times, as you can see during his photo shoot...he wore his favorite bandana. 🥰

Boone is an adult dog and is absolutely perfect! He is excellent on leash and enjoys casual walks, he's potty trained, and he is a low to moderate energy.

Puppies pulled from a dumpster now happy, healthy and ready for adoption!

We are over the moon excited that these 3 little brothers, who were found discarded like garbage in a dumpster, are thriving!

On July 7, 2025, Ham, Peppa, and Wilbur came in INFESTED with fleas, bloated bellies FILLED with worms, open sores all over their little bodies, and severely underweight. These poor little puppies were in a rough shape.

Staff got right to work getting rid of the fleas, deworming, feeding, and of course....loving on them. Followed up with vet care from our amazing veterinarians at Dr. Graham & Dr. Houser 🥰

For the past 2 weeks all three puppies have been making progress and they are growing like weeds😀 (we have no idea what breed they are)

They are so sweet and absolutely love all the attention they are getting. Now, we think they are super special...and they are! 🙂 So we are looking for very special families for them...
"Wilbur" can see and hear
"Peppa" is deaf but not blind
"Ham" is deaf and blind. (You would never know, he doesn't miss a beat!) Lol.

Please please please consider adopting a deserving dog. They may have some special needs but they are the most resilient & happy puppies! They play and get around like any of the other puppies we have. You never know, something that never crossed your mind may just end up being the best decision you ever made!

I mean, come on.....look at those faces!🥰🥰🥰

Calling all Rotty lovers! 🥰

Meet "Tubbs" and "Fergie"
(They did not come in together)

TUBBS
Tubbs is a senior dog, over 8 years old, but he is still young at heart!

Tubbs absolutely loves spending time with staff and volunteers. He's extremely social and will wiggle his little stubbed tail right into your lap😀

Tubbs walks well on leash and has been clean in his kennel.

Senior dogs do tend to get looked over....please don't pass this sweet guy up! He is ready to be the best ever new addition to your family!

FERGIE
Fergie approximately 1-2 years of age. She is young and will do best with someone who will help her gain her confidence and not overwhelm her. (Small children under 8 yr would be too much for her comfort zone)

Fergie does well on leash and has been clean in her kennel. She is truly a diamond in the "ruff!" Given a loving family, time to decompress, confidence, and some basic training ...this girl is going to be amazing! 🥰

3 Dogs dumped on the Musketawa Trail available for adoption!

Yes, once again this week, we can confirm the owner of these dogs, dumped them on the bike trail!

The owner called 2 other rescues in town to surrender them and were put on a waiting list. Instead of waiting, he just let them out the car door on the bike trail. (Yes, we have all the confirmation we need for this situation)

This is unacceptable!

Not only did you put these poor dogs in a dangerous situation (high traffic area, 90 degrees) you are another reason the county shelter is over capacity!

When other places can't take owner surrenders, the dogs all of a sudden become "stays" and PoundBuddies is the dumping ground. THIS MUST END!!!

The statement on the owner surrender form states "dogs must be gone by July 26th...."
How callous!!!

Well, we'll make sure the dogs you threw away find amazing new homes. But you're not off the hook! 💩

For our amazing community of dog lovers, these sweeties are ready to be in a loving home. 🥰
The brown dog is a female, adult.
The golden and the black dogs are males and they are young adults.
