Our favorite 3x 2025 Dryland World Champion Mikki Douglass is at it again with the Alpine Cup Iron Paws Dryland World Cup Race Series. The first race at Camp K is the Ride Roslyn’s Iron Paws Dryland Divisional Championship!
October 2 - 4, 2026
Camp Koinonia (Camp K) in Cle Elum, Washington
This race is for IFSS World Cup Points in Canicross, 1- and 2-Dog Bikejor, 1- and 2-Dog Scooter, and 4-Dog and 6-Dog Rig.
The best thing is, it is FAMILY FRIENDLY!! You don’t need to be a pro competing for IFSS World Cup points. There are age group and recreation classes that include everyone, even the little kiddos. And there is an Old Dog Class too.
Don’t have a dog but want to learn more about dog-pulling sports, come on out - the community is pretty awesome and inviting.

Whether your dog is tearing up the agility course, herding under the summer sun, or pulling a sled through fresh powder — they’re not just a pet. They’re an athlete.
And athletes need more than kibble.
We’re excited to introduce Energy Edge, a Glyco-Gen energy shake developed by Dr. Angie Untisz, DVM — a veterinarian and competitive Border Collie handler who knows exactly what it takes to keep a working dog fueled, focused, and ready to go again tomorrow.
Here’s the short version: high-intensity work burns through your dog’s muscle glycogen fast — sometimes within 1–2 days of consecutive activity. When that tank runs dry, you see it. Missed commands. Slower times. A dog who’s mentally checked out before their body is even tired.
Energy Edge was developed to close that gap. Mix it with water, and it becomes an easy, palatable shake that:
- Tops off glycogen for sustained stamina
- Keeps your dog mentally sharp and locked into
commands
- Fuels the explosive power behind every sprint, climb,
and leap
- Replaces up to 80% of the carbs lost during hard
exercise, for faster recovery

If you’ve been mushing long enough, you know the feeling. The first cold snap hits, the dogs are buzzing with energy, and you realize your lines look frayed, a snap is sticking, or you need to expand your team from a 4-dog to a 6-dog setup.
You head online to order, only to hit the dreaded seasonal bottleneck. Suddenly, you’re looking at extended lead times just when you should be out on the trail.
At Alpine Outfitters, we craft every piece of gear right here in the USA. Because quality craftsmanship takes time, right now is the absolute best time to inspect your setup
By upgrading your lines during the offseason, you get:
* Zero-stress lead times: Beat the massive autumn rush and ensure your gear arrives well before training season kicks off.
* Perfected setups: Take your time configuring a Rope or Cable-Filled Gangline tailored precisely to your pack.
* Trail safety: Don’t risk a mid-season line break. Inspect your current system for compromised rope, chew damage, or fraying cable now.
Whether you need a full 14-Dog line, adding a 2-Dog Modular Section, or just need to stock up on cable-filled necklines and replacement tugs, we’re ready to build it for you today.

Cani-hiking is an elevated, athletic version of walking your dog in the outdoors. Unlike a casual stroll where your pup stops at every bush, cani-hiking is a hands-free, goal oriented activity where you and your dog work as a synchronized team to navigate trails.
How Cani-Hike Differs From a Regular Hike
While it might look like a normal hike, the equipment and the “drive” are what sets it apart.
* Directional Tension: In cani-hiking, your dog is typically in front, maintaining a slight tension on the lead.
* Hands-Free: You don’t hold a standard leash. Our Hand-Free and Canicross Belt are ideal.
* Communication: Much like mushing, communication involves specific cues such as “haw” for left, “gee” for right, and “on by” for passing other people and animals.
Enhancing the Relationship With Your Dog Through Teamwork
* Physical Conditioning Teamwork: It’s a serious workout! While having your dog assist you up inclines can help you move faster, you are engaging your core to stay stable.
* Mental Stimulation: Following ‘trail commands” provides a job for high energy or working breeds.
* Safety: Being tethered to your dog ensures they stay with you on technical terrain, and the specialized gear can prevent “shoulder tugging” pain of a standard leash.

We recently put Etta (and our gear!) to the test at the Mush Without Slush, a two-day dryland race hosted by the Pacific Sled Dog & Skijor Association in Sisters, Oregon. It’s a fun, open to everyone and encourages new racers. It’s an annual event, held on beautiful trails through the Ponderosa Pines in Deschutes National Forest.
Etta and I entered the 2-mile class, with her attached to my mountain bike with the Single Dog Bikejor Line, safely held out of my front wheel using our Scooter Noodle! clipped onto her X-Back harness. It was an exhilarating ride. The 2 mile is a favorite distance, so it attracted 14 participants with a one minute interval start, and the trail’s up and back loop configuration provided for several exciting head-on passes. Etta likes to run on the wrong side of the trail and it caused some issues. A clean run on the second day provided much better results with an Etta driven 22.7-mph average speed.
We are thrilled to announce:
* 3rd Place Overall in the 2-mile class (2nd with 1-dog).
* The Fastest Course Time: A blistering 4 minutes and 45 seconds.

At Alpine Outfitters, we believe the best gear is forged on the trail. That’s why we are beyond excited to introduce the newest member of our pack and our official “Lead Dog”: Etta.
A Journey of Resilience
Etta is a 2.5-year-old Eurohound (a powerhouse cross of German Shorthaired Pointer,  Greyhound and a little Alaskan-type Husky). She comes to us through our sponsored racer and 3x Dryland World Champion, Mikki Douglass.
Etta’s journey to Washington wasn’t easy. Originally part of a promising team in Ottawa, Canada, a tragic accident left her owner unable to keep her. Alongside her mother and two sisters, Etta was part of a 4-dog rescue mission that spanned thousands of miles from Eastern Canada to Cle Elum, Washington.
From Rescue to Racing
Despite never having been harnessed before this big move, Etta’s natural talent is undeniable. After an evaluation at Roughrider Kennel in Montana and a week of training with Mikki’s lineup, she found her stride.
Today, she’s hitting the Central Oregon trails in Bend, Redmond, and Sisters, proving every day that she was born to lead.
Stayed tuned for her adventures at Mush Without Slush.
Happy Trails,
The Alpine Outfitters Team
