Paws4Survival Rescue Inc. Paws4Survival Rescue Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of Puerto Rico street dogs.

Paws4Survival is a nonprofit (501c3) organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of Puerto Rico street dogs. We provide veterinary care, shelter, and socialization in a daycare facility to prepare these dogs for adoption in the New York and New England area. Our strategic plan focuses on the town of Arroyo in the Southeastern part of the island, however we always help with pleas from l

ocal rescuers. Within Arroyo, there are two beach areas, Playa Chiropolis and Malecon in which we work to keep the dogs safe from animal control. Our volunteers provide basic shelter, food and water and care is provided until an opening in our program is available. Dogs that are not candidates for our program are captured for spay/neuter and returned to the beach to live under our care.

All we need your help! Buzz, Woody, and Andy have been in boarding since the holidays with their friend Jacey. We need immediate fosters to get them in homes. The boys are 6 months old, 24 pounds and all legs…. Jacey is 10 months and a complete sweetheart. Our amazing friends at have been doing a great job but we need to get them in homes. Financially we also can’t afford to have them here for an unlimited amount of time. Please share if you are unable to help, we really need at least 3 families as soon as possible ..:: Happy New Year , it’s all about the dogs..

Let's make every moment count because we never know what's next - English translated lyric from 2026 is here. Georgina and her siblings arrived in November to find homes after her owner, a rescuer in PR, was diagnosed with late stage cancer. This girl is pure love. We have 4 puppies in boarding that we need your help tomorrow finding foster immediately now that the holidays are over. Wait until you see these gangly adorable pups. Georgina, sister Dina and brother Blackie will be posted on our site for adoption tomorrow.

2025 — What a Year!
Challenging, yes — but beyond rewarding!
With just two people (both balancing full-time corporate jobs), 410 cats and dogs found their forever families this year.
    •    Our Barn Program saved more than 40 cats from the NYC ACC high-risk euthanasia list — 20 are now fully rehabilitated and thriving in loving homes.
    •    Through our wildlife license, we rescued and released over 110 wild animals from spring through late fall.
    •    We strengthened long-standing partnerships — some going strong for more than a decade — and built new ones that expand our reach and resources.
    •    We’re now reviewing quotes for a second facility to support our growing dog program, in addition to our Holbrook quarantine building.
All of this… powered by just two people and dozens of devoted volunteers who work 24/7, 365 days a year, until the day we’re no longer needed.

That weird limbo between Christmas and New Year’s has arrived, days have no names, motivation left the chat, and we’re all just... existing.

Well, well, well... we saw the dogs posted their holiday greetings first (typical 🙄). But don’t worry, now it’s our turn to shine! The fabulous felines of Paws4Survival are here to wish you a very Meowy & Bright Holiday Season!
While the pups were busy wagging their tails, we were perfecting our poses and fluffing our fur for the “real” holiday photo shoot. From cozy cuddles to tree-climbing adventures, our cats are ready to send you purrs, head bumps, and plenty of festive mischief.

Thank you for filling our year with love, kindness, and forever homes. Here’s to more snuggles, treats, and happily-ever-afters in the new year! 💖😻💖

Christmas miracles exist EVEN for the 11 year old brindle pitbull riddled with tumors and masses that sat at Miami Dade Animal shelter for over 6 months. Dexter had his first snowfall today and is sleeping in bed and found his favorite ball… while invisible to most, he stood out to us.

Merry Christmas Eve All. Dexter will be looking for a forever foster or up for adoption after South Coastal performs testing.. he is gentle, sweet and loving ❤️❤️❤️

Taz traveled here a month ago and we can’t seem to figure out how this handsome almost 1 year old mini cocker spaniel mix is still available for adoption.

We have heard of several issues with Petfinder so are reposting Mr. Guapo for more attention. I mean come on everyone he is gorgeous and well behaved ❤️🐾

A holiday tradition at Paws4Survival for the last 8 years has been accepting the oldest cat and dog from the highest kill shelters , the last 3 years we have worked with . This year we will be working with and .

Tomorrow Dexter and Mimi both 11 will arrrive thanks to our friends and partner . Dexter was surrendered almost a year ago, his family moved and couldn’t take him, medical notes indicate he is full of lumps and bumps 😢 Sweet Mimi was left in a box in front of the shelter. 🥲

The truth is more people are surrendering their animals so these two did not stand a chance. Here at P4S, whether they have 2 days, 2 months or 2 years our team including our amazing vet team will be by their side : not a stainless steel/wire crate for the rest of their lives.

This is who we are .. This is what we love. Merry Christmas Dexter and Mimi, see you tomorrow.
