As we continue to recognize Día de Los Mu***os - we’re grateful that many hospital teams created their own ofrendas! Our communities showed up by sharing pictures and items of their beloved pets at their local VCA this season! The lasting connections we have with our community members and your pets means the world to us. We honor all of those pictured.

👻 To all of our pet parents out there, please take a moment to absorb some Halloween pet safety tips from your VCA Northwest Hills Animal Hospital:

Watch the Door: With trick-or-treaters coming and going, pets can easily slip out unnoticed. Keep a close eye or consider keeping pets in a secure room.

Microchip Your Pet: If your pet does get out, a microchip greatly increases the chances of a safe return.

Keep Candy Secure: Candy wrappers and sweets can be dangerous for pets, causing blockages or digestive issues. Store treats out of reach and clean up promptly.

Create a Calm Space: Costumes and noise can stress pets out. Give them a quiet, comfy spot away from the action.

🎬 Lights, camera, action! That’s likely what runs through Aria’s mind each time she steps out the front door—ready to take on the world with tail-wagging enthusiasm.

Thanks to Christine’s dedication, Aria is thriving. Now fully vaccinated and bursting with puppy energy, she’s been exploring the town, getting acquainted with new sights, sounds, and friendly faces. Christine, who’s already a pro at basic commands, is guiding Aria through daily training sessions that go far beyond the basics—helping her grow into a confident and well-mannered companion.

We’re incredibly grateful to Christine for her tireless work both here at the hospital and with Aria. Your care, patience, and love make a world of difference. We love you! 🐾

A classic favorite - tall dark and handsome. Ragnar strolled in last week for a quick check of the eyes along with an allergy shot. We’re endlessly grateful for our incredible rescue partners! Meet Rex—a gentle, affectionate new arrival at Houston Collie Rescue. This sweet rough collie pup is already winning hearts with his calm demeanor and soulful eyes. Though still growing into his oversized paws, Rex is destined to become a confident leader of the pack.

He recently visited us for his first wellness check, where we established care and gave him a few booster vaccines to keep him healthy and thriving. Since settling into his foster home just two days ago, Rex has been adjusting beautifully and showing all the signs of a happy, resilient pup.

Meet Topanga, yes... She is real! This beautiful baby boxer was brought in this past Friday for her first wellness check up. Healthy as ever, she didn't make it too far into our lobby before she was greeted by 6 open arms. We are so lucky we get to see her again later this week, as it was too soon for Topanga to get her vaccines. We love you Topanga!
