Pivot Kennels We breed an excellent hunting and family Wirehaired Vizsla that is genetically tested and sound. In 2015, we bought our second WHV (Quill) from Hungary.

Eric and Megan Wallendal discovered the amazing Wirehaired Vizsla (WHV) in 2011 when we got Gambit. We are passionate about this breed and promoting ethically sound genetic breeding. This breed is known for their natural point and retrieve, hunting and tracking skills and their gentle and loyal family dog personality. They are people dogs, loving to nap and cuddle on their people.

Summer tests get the season started with a bang!

Zuri earned a Gun Dog Prize 3, with some beautiful field work and even better water work. The heat, humidity, and incredibly thick grass made for a challenging day, but she gave it her all. We’re so proud of her!

Irka had a fantastic field run, earning 4s in search, steadiness, and pointing, and a 3 on her retrieve. Unfortunately, what I thought was a minor limp turned out to be a fractured toe. I should have listened to my gut and pulled her
—a tough reminder that there’s always something to learn.
Despite the challenges, it was a great day doing what we love most: watching our dogs work, watching them light up in the field, and seeing that natural drive and focus come through. 🐾❤️

So proud of these girls and grateful for days spent doing what they were bred to do!

Every puppy represents a lifetime of possibility.

At Pivot Kennels, we don’t just see an eight-week-old Wirehaired Vizsla—we see future hunting partners, hiking companions, family dogs, and loyal friends.

The first weeks of life help build the foundation for everything that follows. Through thoughtful breeding, early socialization, and dedicated owners, those small moments grow into years of unforgettable memories.

Whether your dream is days in the uplands, weekends at the lake, or simply a dog that becomes part of your family, every journey starts with one decision.

A puppy isn’t just joining your home—it’s becoming part of your story.

What adventure would your future Wirehaired Vizsla be joining you on?

Not just pretty—she works. Working on brushing up skills for our upcoming test!

A Wirehaired Vizsla was bred to be versatile — and that spirit still shows in everything they do.

One moment they’re powering through the field with focus and purpose, the next they’re splashing around like this just for the fun of it. Water, upland, tracking, retrieving, family life — give them a job, a direction, and a partnership with their person, and they’ll figure it out.

The beauty of the breed isn’t just what they can do… it’s their willingness to do anything you ask of them.
