This is Howdy — and if you can’t tell by his face, he’s living his absolute best life at Cougar Creek Dog Resort. Whether it’s daycare or a boarding stay, Howdy is always all-in, running full speed into the adventure. 🐕💨🌲

At some point during the ride to pup club, Howdy realizes where he is going and gets excited in the car! When he arrives, he lets his nose lead the way, and smells all the smells. When he sees his other friends, they chase each other into the fields, tails high and wild. The minute he sees the creek, it’s game on. Splashing, swimming, chasing tails and sticks — he goes full zoom-mode through the water, ears flapping, eyes lit up with joy, and usually making that silly face mid-leap. 💦😆

Added bonus, Howdy is exhausted the next day, experiencing the Doggy Disneyland Effect. It’s like taking a kid to Disneyland for three days straight—they’re running, laughing, spinning in circles, fueled by excitement… and then suddenly, they’re asleep in the car with a churro in one hand and melted ice cream on their shirt. That’s your pup after Cougar Creek! 😴💤

One of the things we love most is knowing how reassured his pawrents feel every time they leave him in our care — it’s an honor to be their trusted home-away-from-home for their good boy.

Howdy has been an incredible addition to our pack. He’s the kind of dog who reminds us exactly why we do this — to create a space where dogs can truly be dogs. Run wild, swim free, and soak up every muddy, joy-filled moment with other happy pup friends.

Before the tires even hit our driveway, Sweet Annie knows where she’s going—and she’s already bouncing with excitement in the backseat. 🐾🚗 Her tail wags faster, her eyes light up, and we swear she practically sings when she sees the open gates of Cougar Creek Dog Resort!

Once she’s here, it’s go time. She zooms across our 10 acres like it was built just for her—ears flapping, heart soaring. 💨 She makes fast friends with every pup she meets, always knowing that her new buddies are fun, friendly, and just as playful as she is. Sweet Annie thrives while she is here because she can be her joyful, wild self!

By the time her Paw-Ma comes to pick her up, Sweet Annie’s had the time of her life. She’s happy-tired (the best kind of tired), and sometimes she even puts up a mild protest—just a soft reminder that she really wouldn’t mind one more game of chase with her friends! 🐶

We are beyond honored to be a second home for pups like Sweet Annie. Knowing her Paw-Ma feels totally at peace while she is out of town is the kind of trust we cherish most. 💛

Thank you for letting us love on your girl. She’s a total gem. 💎🐾

🎉🐾 Ambassador Murphy rang in his 5th birthday the only way a Cougar Creek legend could—by leading a high-speed joy sprint through the fields & around the trees like a furry NASCAR champ, hitting those corners with the precision of a seasoned pro! Later, Murphy out-fetched the entire pack in the Pro Fetch League™ (multiple ball catches, zero fumbles). 🥎😎

After proving (once again) he’s the MVP of fetch, Murph led his crew to the creek for a splash-fest full of cannonballs, soggy ears, and zero regrets. 💦🐶

The grand finale? A drool-worthy bone-shaped birthday cookie from that said Happy Birthday, but really meant Long Live the Goodest Boy. 🍪👑

Here’s to another year of fetch domination, muddy paws, and cookie-fueled chaos. Happy birthday, Murphy! 💙🐾

Mattie Lambert was the Queen of Cougar Creek Dog Resort. Every pup that came into our home was greeted and loved by our sweet girl. She was everyone’s first friend and always enjoyed meeting new faces. She was my shadow; she followed me everywhere and always waited by the door for us to return. She greeted us with an excited bark & a few hops when we walked in the door. She successfully protected us from the mailman & delivery drivers. She would paw at us & give us her belly when she wanted love, we called it the “Mattie tax” & it was always paid. She helped raise three incredible humans & was the best big sissy to her pup brother and sister.
Mattie was the absolute best girl I’ve ever known. She gave the best kisses, was always happy to give you a low five & shared her fur with anyone she came in contact with. She was our guardian, our protector. Although she started to lose her hearing, those big ears of hers were always up and alert. Her hearing was selective because she ALWAYS heard me open the bag of treats! Dinner time was her favorite part of the day; she would nudge me with her snout & give the occasional woof if I didn’t deliver on time. She was so happy & full of excited hops when her dinner was served. Mattie’s second favorite thing was chin scratches. She loved them so much she would lean her whole body into getting her chin rubbed. Moving out of town into the gulch significantly improved her quality of life. The size of her land increased 50x’s and included a creek, every water dog’s dream. She gained the freedom she deserved and different pup friends to play with daily. Our guest pups added a whole new level of fun for her & we are incredibly grateful for each and every one. 🐾

Ms Maggie Overholser graced our lives with her presence last summer. We were known to her as “The Ranch” & she was always so happy to see us. Every visit she ran faster & faster through our fields. She made new friends every visit & was visibly excited to see old ones. We would only spend time together in the summer because she opted to sun bathe in warmer weather during the winter months.

Maggie loved sticks and she always found the biggest ones! She was great at fetch and loved chasing squirrels. She gave the best low fives and kisses. Her favorite place to sleep was the couch. Maggie had soft, shiny hair and the most beautiful features. She had a heart of gold; she loved everyone she met.

Unfortunately, during Maggie’s visit to Texas she was involved in an accident. We are deeply saddened by her passing. Please keep Maggie’s Paw-Ma in your prayers.
