very dog deserves the best start in life. Your puppy will be raised on our premium puppy program, where they will participate in 8 weeks of an advanced service dog curriculum. Before being chosen, they will complete a temperament evaluation, so you can match yourself with the best fit for your family. Adding a new family member isn’t something you take lightly, and at Blackwood Acres we don’t either.

Meet TEDDY 🧸

Kota has one sweet baby boy, and when I say we're in love, I'm talking head over heels, heart in a puddle kind of love. We've never had a singleton before, so this will be a learning experience for us, namely in how to not spoil him ridiculously. 😅

Exciting news! Scarecrow found his forever family and went home to Massachusetts this weekend! 🥰 Thank you to everyone who inquired about him, spread the word, and followed along on his journey. He is going to have the best life with his German Shepherd big brother, Atticus. 💙

Scarecrow Shenanigans 🐶

Scarecrow is still waiting for his family! He is our sweet and cuddly boy, a perfect mix of energetic and snuggle bug. He loves to play! He gets attached to his humans and wants to be with them when they’re around, but he is also learning to stay quietly in his crate.

🚙 Transportation options are available if you cannot pick him up yourself. We are located in central Illinois, around 3 hours from Chicago, Indianapolis, and St. Louis.

TRAINING
Scarecrow has received two weeks of professional training. He is practicing communicating the need to potty in a designated place, learning to sleep in a crate without crying, and learning commands like sit, down, and how to walk on a leash.

Scarecrow is getting all the love while he waits for his family to find him. 🥰

He is a sweet and cuddly Bernese Mountain Dog. He’s that perfect mix of playful and snuggler. He has enough energy to play, but also loves getting pets and treats. He gets attached to his humans and wants to be with them when they’re around, but he is also learning to stay quietly in his crate.

In addition to our 8-week empowered puppy curriculum, Scarecrow has received 2 weeks of professional training. He is practicing communicating the need to potty in a designated place, learning to sleep in a crate without crying, and learning commands like sit, down, and how to walk on a leash. His adoption fee includes his training.

Our lil buddy Scarecrow is patiently waiting for his family. 💙 He is super chill, loves cuddles, and is always eager to play. He loves people so much and will follow you anywhere. He truly is such a sweetheart!
