I am SO EXCITED to announce the new partnership between Julie Shilling and Sir Maverick. It’s been a godsend story since the beginning and we could not be happier with this sweet boy. I am honored to be a part of their journey and cannot wait to watch them develop together!

This is Brooks. Brooks is retired and living his best life, one eye and all.

I have been asked by his owner to help maintain his feet. Most days he’s standing quietly in his stall and we go about our routine, one that is a little different due to some physical needs of his, rotating around his feet in a bit of an unorthodox pattern for his comfort.

But some days he’s flat out enjoying his morning nap. What’s funny about Brooks is he sleeps with his “good eye” against the ground.

So this gentle giant, probably sticking at 17+hh lays flat out, unable to watch me, as I go about taking care of his feet.

This is trust. This is what the goal is. It’s not always about riding, it’s definitely not always about showing, it’s about the trust that we develop with these amazing creatures.

If you know me, you know one of the best pairs ever - Marilyn and Mojo. Marilyn came to visit this week and Mojo immensely enjoyed his time at The Bharn, he may have even enjoyed his new crowd too much 🤣. Both Jayde and AJ got to enjoy sweet Mojo, thank you SO MUCH Marilyn, and overall it was an amazing visit. Aside from her own lessons, Marilyn traveled the Moyock and surrounding areas with me the last three days watching me teach and ride. I so appreciate everyone involved and I’m so proud of JB for getting on and rocking it on this big guy!! Cannot wait for them to visit again!!!

One of my most favorite people, Carrie, is in the horse treat (humans and dogs like them too) business with her OWN recipes!! And check out these adorable Mother’s Day bouquets 😍🥹 peanut butter and banana flavored for our favorite partners!! She’s taking orders, get them while you can!!

This kiddo continues to impress me. Not only did she receive scores close to qualifying for regionals, but she treated her horse with so much kindness and grace in moments that he was nervous and gained even more of his trust. To continuously hear her whisper sweet words of comfort to Z was heartwarming, she even got a compliment about how solid her horsemanship is. THAT is what we raise in young riders; riders that ride for the bond first and the scores last. Her tact and skill grew miles this weekend and honestly I could go on and on, truly blessed to be a part of their team❤️
