We offer a lifeline to underdog animal rescue squads across the planet. Our partners are the small but incredibly courageous animal rescue teams who operate in parts of the world where animal welfare is quite poor. Our supporters are dramatically impacting thousands upon thousands of animals who might otherwise go without food, shelter and veterinary care. Here’s some of the work we do:

1. Food a

nd veterinary care for animals in struggling rescue centers
2. Street feeding patrols to provide daily meals for homeless dogs and cats in several countries
3. Anti-snaring patrols and wildlife rehabilitation in Africa
4. Care for rescued farm animals
5. Legal initiatives to fight cruelty and neglect
6. Spay/neuter campaigns for homeless and rescued animals
7. Supplemental food as well as rescue and adoptions for dogs in neglectful pounds

Gratitude and respect are at the cornerstone of our relationship with our supporters. We do not expose our supporters to graphic photos of animal suffering or distribute dire forecasts about animal suffering. Instead we focus on a spirit of joy and determination as we pursue essential operations to provide food, veterinary medicine, shelter and protection from cruelty for animals worldwide.

🎉💛 A MIRACLE GIFT FROM A MYSTERY ANGEL 💛🎉

Today, we are still in joyful shock. An envelope arrived at the Harmony Fund offices with no name, no return address. Tucked inside? A winning lottery ticket. Yes, you read that right.
We celebrate—with every fiber of our grateful hearts.

To the anonymous donor:

Your act of kindness goes beyond generosity. You’ve turned a simple piece of paper into food for the hungry, shelter for the abandoned, medicine for the sick, and hope for the forgotten. You’ve reminded us—and the world—that compassion comes in many forms, sometimes even printed with numbers and tucked quietly into an envelope.

Wherever you are, please know this: your gift will create ripples of rescue and love across continents. You have given luck a new meaning.

From the animals whose lives will now be saved,
from the team that wakes up each day to fight for them,
and from all of us at Harmony Fund...
Thank you. You are our silent hero. 🐾💫

Free Vet Care Reaches Venezuela’s Pets and Strays—Thanks to You

Harmony Fund is honored to have a vital partnership with Red de Apoyo Canino (RAC) in Venezuela. Together, we’re providing free health care for pets and homeless animals in communities where poverty is overwhelming. The animals arrive on leashes made with twine, carried in laundry baskets, or cradled in the arms of their family members. None would receive the care they need without the incredible generosity of Harmony Fund’s supporters.

“Thanks to you, we were able to treat 221 animals free of charge this July,” RAC Director Daniela Lovera said. “The most important thing is that we carried out these campaigns in remote areas where there is a rabies epidemic. We work with the municipal government and have had access to recent cases of rabid dogs and human bites. Therefore, we must carry out these vaccinations in these at-risk areas to also be able to sterilize this group of animals. Several of them are being sterilized today. The community is very grateful to you.”

“We were also able to continue treating sick animals in Cumaná and Guigue. We delivered medication to several groups in the interior of the country, and to elderly people who own several animals and care for them on the streets. With your help, we were able to pay for these transports. We were also able to provide food to several rescued animals. Thank you so much for being consistent with this work and making this aid possible. We save lives!”

Aid Sent to Haitian Rescue Center Amid Escalating Violence

We’re honored to share that Harmony Fund has made a donation to Fondation Alliance Verte, a courageous animal rescue center operating in the heart of Haiti, where conditions are currently dire. The country is under siege by violent gangs, masked men looting and plundering – forcing many terrified people to flee their homes. Despite the escalating danger, the volunteers at Fondation Alliance Verte continue to risk their safety to care for animals left behind.

“The airport is closed since November 2024, and the last secure road out of the city has fallen to gang control,” Founder Marilyn Esper said. “ We are in a limited safe zone that might soon fall under gang attacks. This situation causes more people to flee leaving more pets behind. Nowhere is safe. Ninety percent of the capital is now controlled by those dangerous gangs. The latest area they took over are Pacot, Kenskoff and Furcy in the mountains where people have been killed and many houses, hotel and restaurants burned. They are destroying everything. Many people, like most of my family and friends already left the country and many more are fleeing without even having a place to go. We do our best to take in as many dogs and cats as possible. At the shelter, there are 72 cats and 63 dogs. Since nowhere is safe we can’t even think about moving.”

Each animal helped by this shelter has their own story of hardship, like the kitty seen in the foreground of this photo. The tabby cat shown in the photo below was discoverd tied to a concrete pillar when she was just a kitten, but today she is thriving. Without Fondation Alliance Verte, what would have become of her? The team here at Harmony Fund are deeply moved by the everyday bravery of this shelter team in their rescue mission and grateful to all of you for your amazing support.

“From all of us here at Fondation Alliance Verte, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you!,” Marilyn said. “Thank you to the whole team of Harmony Fund and everyone involved in helping us.”

Happy Paw in Ukraine Says Thank You!

Happy Paw in Ukraine wants to thank Harmony Fund supporters for their recent donation of food. They delivered the food to the Four Paws shelter in the Kherson region, which is partially occupied. More than 300 dogs and 400 cats are housed at that shelter, so the food is critical.

“This help was really important for them - thank you so so much,” Nina of Happy Paw said. “We hope you can help with more food while our humanitarian food aid is on pause. We thank you for your support.”

“Zimbabwe Will Become an Elephant Graveyard!”
- 77 Rescue Groups Sound Alarm-

Save Valley Conservancy, Zimbabwe — A growing number of Zimbabwean citizens and conservation advocates are voicing strong opposition to the renewed culling of elephants in the Save Valley Conservancy (SVC), one of Africa’s largest private wildlife reserves. This year, authorities have announced the cull of 50 elephants, but private landowners within the Conservancy plan to cull up to 600 elephants.

“The very idea that these elephants should be killed and eaten like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches is deeply misguided,” said Harmony Fund Founder Laura Simpson who represents a network of 77 animal rescue squads internationally. “When did we as a species decide that the solution to our conservation matters was mass murder?"

In 2024, an estimated 200 elephants were culled, but the practice went largely unreported. Now, in 2025, the number is set to triple. Among the leading proponents is W***y Pabst, a millionaire landowner and holder of over 200,000 acres, including the Sango Reserve. Pabst has publicly stated his desire to eradicate more elephants, citing environmental degradation and overpopulation as key reasons. However, local conservationists argue that the ecological role elephants play is being ignored, and that sustainable, humane alternatives exist.

“Elephants are nature’s gardeners,” Simpson said. “They open up dense forests, which allows grasslands to regenerate and supports a wider range of biodiversity. The idea that they are purely destructive is a misunderstanding of their vital ecological function.”

Critics argue that the culling is being driven more by politics and profit than conservation. While authorities claim the meat is used to feed starving communities, alternative forms of food support from the international community are needed. Meat is a luxury item in many rural communities and is rarely consumed more than once a month. Furthermore, profits from the sale of ivory, hides, and body parts go primarily to landowners.

Activists are also calling for an independent audit of Zimbabwe’s national ivory stockpile to ensure transparency and to prevent illegal stock augmentation through culling.

“Harmony Fund is comprised of a league of 77 animal rescue squads across the planet,” Simpson said. “We are the voice of animals who roam this earth. In unison, we are calling for an abrupt end to the planned cull and an audit of Zimbabwe’s ivory storage to see if the ivory from previous culls is indeed under safekeeping or being exploited for profit.”

Culling has long been discredited as a conservation tool. In South Africa, over 16,000 elephants were culled between 1967 and 1994, only for authorities to halt the practice after acknowledging its ineffectiveness and the trauma it inflicted on elephant populations.

Experts like Dr. Joyce Poole and Cynthia Moss, who have studied elephants for over 40 years in Kenya and at locations such as Amboseli National Park, emphasize that elephants communicate over long distances and react with distress to the killing of their kin. Culling leads to increased aggression, psychological trauma, and long-term disruptions to herd structures.

Local landowners also argue that the destruction of iconic trees, such as baobabs, caused by elephants can be mitigated through simple, non-lethal methods, including wire mesh fencing. Mopane forests, often cited as "damaged," naturally regenerate through a process known as coppicing, where one broken tree gives rise to multiple new shoots.

Instead of culling, conservationists advocate for responsible translocation programs. Countries like Congo and Mozambique are seeking to replenish elephant populations lost to poaching. Modern methods could safely relocate small family groups of 10–15 elephants by air, creating a win-win for conservation efforts across the continent.

“Zimbabwe risks turning into an elephant graveyard under the pretense of conservation,” Simpson said. “We need transparency, accountability, and a return to scientifically grounded conservation practices—not outdated, inhumane policies.”

As voices grow louder both within Zimbabwe and internationally, citizens are urging organizations, scientists, and global leaders like Dr. Jane Goodall to lend their voice and help protect one of Africa’s most iconic species.

"These elephants are family units," Simpson continued. "Mothers and babies, brothers and sisters. They will be chased down and killed in front of one another.”
