We have had alot of request for Sunny's puppies. Let's discuss the 3 major reason why I would never breed her.
#1 Sunny had her hips and elbows evaluated and sent to the OFA. Unfortunately the results came back as FAIR. That is considered "passing" to some. To us its just not good enough. Now were the results due to environment or genetic? Sunny has been hoping over 2 foot pens since she was 6 weeks old. She has climbed out of an 8 foot kennel and she will hop over 5 foot fence with very litte effort. Hard landings effect young dogs more than you think. Both her sisters and neice passed their health testing with good or excellent hip ratings. Do i think her fair hips was environmental, YES. Am I 100% NO. She has never had an injury.
#2 Her temperament and confidence is amazing. However, her mother Mila was 100% ADRK lines and Sunny was blessed with HIGH DRIVE. Sunny needs to work and is extremely active. She is always looking for what's next. Yes she can settle and has an off switch in our structured home. But that's after lots of exercise both mental and physical EVERYDAY. She is extremely obedient. But when she sees a bite sleeve she needs a strong hand. Also, this girl loves to fly off a dock and in the pool room or at competition to put it nicely SHE'S READY TO GO! Most families are NOT looking for her energy level and drive.
#3 SHE IS MY SPORTING DOG. That's what she wants most out of life. She would be miserable being laid up for months to produce a litter. She would definitely be unfulfilled, even though she loves the baby pups and usually the first to go see a new litter. She would be unhappy and that would make me unhappy. She would never want or adhere to minimal exercise. It would devastate her not to be at the pool at least once a week and be by my side while competing.
Having puppies is just not in her story ππ»π
