Tonight our sweet Bella lost her fight. To say we are heartbroken would be an understatement. Bella will leave a gap in our hearts and in the hearts of every student she helped teach.

About 10 minutes after posting about her progress we got a call from our neighbor letting us know there was a horse out. Bella had somehow managed to slip out of her makeshift stall and went on an adventure. Our wonderful neighbor got her back to the farm before we could make it over but Bella was acting off when we got there. Sadly she ended up colasping and she was unable to get back up again. As always our awesome vet Dr Vicky from Atlas Mobile Veterinary Services came out but there was nothing more that could be done. Bella gave us her all but she ruptured something and her lungs were filling with blood. Dr Vicky helped her pass as peacefully as possible and now Bella gets to run free over the rainbow bridge with Minnie Mouse 🌈

Bella Update -

Bella made some decent improvements overnight! The swelling in her face and neck has improved dramatically. Due to the swelling decreasing she can breathe much easier now. She is also attempting to eat and continuing to try to drink. Our vet was out again this morning and she re-wrapped Bella’s head to keep compression on to attempt to keep the swelling from coming back.

Bella is not out of the woods yet but she has made amazing improvements in the last 48 hours. Keep praying for her and hopefully she will continue to improve! 🙏

Bella Update -

Our vet was out again this morning to re-evaluate. Bella is not doing well. In some ways she is showing improvement but in some ways she is getting worse. The swelling in her chest and neck is about back to normal but it has moved to her face and now her face is extremely swollen. She is spending a ton of time down at the moment but is able to get up and is trying to drink. Her throat is extremely swollen so it is very hard for her to swallow. Finally her temp isn’t spiking way back up, she is continuing to run a low grade fever but it’s not going crazy.

I would love to be able to explain exactly all our vet is doing as so many people are asking but my brain is fried. Bella is taking about 90 pills twice a day along with some liquid oral medicine. All of which is hard to get down her throat due to the swelling and difficulty swallowing. She has had multiple injections for pain, antibiotics, and steroids. Or vet is throwing quite literally everything she can at her and we are praying.

The next step would be to hospitalize so they can start “aggressive treatment” which will involve slicing up and down her neck. Everyone is free to research it themselves if they want to know more, but will not put Bella through that. Our vet will be back out tomorrow to re-evaluate again and if she is not improving we will be giving her the best dignified goodbye we possibly can. We love our Bella girl and we do not want her to continue to suffer so please keep up the prayers because we need a miracle between now and tomorrow.

So many people have been asking so - Bella update

We are currently fighting the development of Clostridial Muscle & Fascia Infection (Myonecrosis). Yes, we did not know what that was either until now. Below is a link that is as minimally graphic as we could find and also still be informative. If you choose to do your own research about this condition please be aware ahead of time some of the photos you may find of the extensive treatment is, to put it nicely, not easy on the eyes.

Our vet has given Bella a guarded prognosis. We are hoping and praying she will be ok but she is not doing well. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Please pray for our sweet Belgian Bella. She coliced late last night and our vet believes it was due to snakebite. She is improving but she’s not out of the woods yet so please send all your prayers our way 🙏

Our one and only day camp is scheduled for this year! There is a limited number of spots available and due to a busy schedule we will only be doing one camp so don’t miss out on it.

Our camps are always loved by the kids who attend. We strive to provide a fun and safe environment for children to learn everything from basic horse care to basic riding skills. What kid wouldn’t love a day full of horses and fun?!

Our Thursday trail ride for April is scheduled!

4/17/25 - DuPont, Guion Farm Access

Meeting at WFE farm at 10am if you’re leasing a horse from us or were hauling your personal horse. If you have your own horse and are joining us there - we aim to be at the trail at 11am.

•Pricing
$45/trailering fee
$65/day lease fee

What does that mean??? If we haul your personal horse from WFE or a horse you already lease from us you owe the trailering fee. If you need an awesome mount for the day that’s where the day lease comes into play! If you’re meeting us there with your personal horse then obviously you owe nothing😉

***Leasing a horse for the day to trail ride with is only available to WFE’s current clients. This trail ride is open to our younger confident beginner students if approved by WFE.

We’ve had quite a few people messaging and asking about our horses. The farm is still a decent distance from all fires but we do have an evacuation plan if it comes to that. Our smoke cloud in the distance is growing but not close yet. We appreciate everyone who has reached out concerned about us!

If anyone has been evacuated and has livestock that needs to be moved please do not hesitate to contact us. We have a 16ft open stock trailer so we can haul any sort of livestock needed.

For those of y’all who know us personally you know that our clients become like family to us. Seeing clients as family isn’t always a good business practice. When clients are rude, disrespectful, or just plain mean it hurts deep as we truly care about each and every one of them. When clients are happy we are also extremely happy for them. When clients are hurting we also hurt and wish to fix things for them and make everything better.

Well one of our clients is hurting now and we are here asking our amazing community for help.

A phenomenal client reached out to us today to let us know her husband unexpectedly lost his job. We have been teaching their daughter for quite a few years now and she is one of those rare kids who is truly passionate about horses. No matter the farm chore she will jump in immediately if it means a little more time around the horses. This family is a huge part of our farm family and we want to help them.

We understand this is a big ask as money is tight for so many people but we are hoping to find sponsors for the next three months to give them time to get back on their feet. This incredible family has been a part of our lesson program for years and we hope they will continue to be a part of our farm family for many more years to come!

We are personally dropping all sponsored lessons to a discounted rate. We are knocking their sponsored private lessons down to $35/hr for March, April, and May to help them get back on their feet. We are praying the Lord will guide this family and provide help for them through looking for new income sources and for their sweet daughter to be able to continue lessons.
