💚🐾 It’s that time of year again… the Great Global Greyhound Walk is BACK! 🐾💚

On Sunday, September 28, hounds and humans will gather at Mill Creek Park to join thousands worldwide in celebrating greyhounds, lurchers, whippets & other sighthounds. This year’s theme is LOVE 💕 and what better way to show it than walking together for these amazing dogs?

Last year we were just 4 dogs short of being the largest walk in the U.S.… let’s spread the LOVE and take the top spot this year! 💚

Save the date, tell all your friends, and come walk with us because LOVE looks like a sighthound. 💚

It’s been such an exciting season with so many pups finding their forever families—and we’ve got another to celebrate!

Katie and Jordan recently welcomed Oslo (right) into their family, where he joins his greyhound sister Tabitha, a proud REGAP alum. Proving once again… you really can’t have just one! 🐾 These two make such a stunning pair, and it’s clear Oslo has landed exactly where he belongs. Wishing you all so much happiness and love! 💚🐾

Adopted!! Beautiful Katydid has started her next adventure with Mariela and Colton! It was love at first sight for this trio, and Katydid walked right into their hearts. 💚

She’s already fitting right in with her new brothers Ezra the Siberian Husky and Dante the little Iggy who are more than happy to have a new sister to share their home (and the couch!) with. 🐾

Here’s to a lifetime of zoomies, snuggles, and happy days ahead for this pawsitively adorable fam! 💚🐾

Milan traveled a long way to Kansas City. But once she discovered her first couch, she didn’t have to go far. 🥰💚

Bryan & Sarah & canine brother, Apollo, welcomed this sweet, little girl as their foster dog & couldn’t let her go!!!

Milan (now Rosie) is officially part of their family. 🎉 🌹

Yesterday, we paid tribute to the founder of Kansas City REGAP, Cher Oliver, who passed away following a battle with cancer July 28.

Roughly 200 people & 50 dogs came together for the "Cherbration." The Mardi Gras theme (Cher loved Mardi Gras) set the tone. Attendees wore Mardi Gras beads, lifted a lemonade toast to Cher, viewed a gallery-like exhibit featuring photos from throughout her life, took part in a sing-along to "Take It Easy" by The Eagles (one of Cher's favorite songs) & laughed & cried as stories were shared by friends & family.

Any celebration of life had to include the hounds she had dedicated her life to –
the pups enjoyed doggie pools & cooling scarves. And, of course, they snarfed up yummy pup cups & delicious treats from our good friends at Callie Mae's Barkery & Bath.

We hope we did you proud, Cher. Your legacy & love will live on in all we do.

Join us tomorrow morning for a CHERbration

Tomorrow we gather to celebrate the life and legacy of Cher, the beloved founder of KCREGAP. Cher touched countless lives, both human and hound, and we want to honor her the way she would have loved: surrounded by friends, pups, and good cheer 💚

There will be a special Lemonade Toast at 10:00 AM in her honor and the opportunity to share favorite stories, photos, and memories of Cher. There will also be doggie pools, games, and refreshments. All are welcome — whether you knew Cher personally or were touched by her work. Let’s make this a joyful tribute worthy of her incredible spirit 💚🐾

Sweet Junebug (left) has officially joined the Huber family, and we couldn’t be happier for her! 💚 She’s now part of a loving home and gets to share life with her new greyhound sibling Clancy, a proud REGAP alum 🐾

With plenty of love, companionship, and cozy porch hangs in her future, Junebug’s next chapter is off to a perfect start.

From shy newcomer to beloved family member Wesley has officially found his furever home! 💚

This sweet, gentle soul was adopted by Scot and Kathy, along with their gorgeous greyhound Liberty (right). Wesley has come such a long way since arriving, slowly blossoming into the confident, loving boy we knew he could be. 🐾

Now with a family to call his own and a built-in best friend in Liberty, the future is looking bright for this boy.

Congratulations, Wesley! Your happily ever after has begun. 💚🐾

Rest easy, Cher. 🕊️ 🌈 🐾
Your life’s work will continue.

Tonight, we are remembering one of the greytest advocates ever for greyhounds, Cher Oliver of Kansas. She formed Kansas City REGAP in 1992 and over the years was responsible for rescuing 6,000 hounds. She took on the cruel industry of greyhound racing right in its home state with equal amounts of grit and courage -- and 100% compassion for the dogs it harmed.

RIP angel. You have truly earned your wings and you will be missed by us all.
