It’s Harness Racing Day at the Delaware State Fair! The Delaware Standardbred Owners Association treated all racing horseman to dinner! We’re talking BBQ chicken, burgers, hotdogs, assorted salads, watermelon, cookies. Courtesy of Main Street Cafe A.K.A my mother n law. An incredible gesture for Delaware horseman and racing! HIGHLIGHTS/PROMOTIONS FOR THE HARNESS RACING CARD AT THE DELAWARE STATE FAIR!
* Thursday, July 17 - Post Time 5 PM
* The 11-race card features First State owned and bred horses.
* Before the racing begins - 4 PM at the Hertrich Plaza outside of the Harrington Raceway grandstand. Heather Vitale will be hosting a Q&A panel with Jim King Jr., Linda MacDonald and Montrell Teague to talk about harness racing & the excitement of the fair!
* There will be several enter to win prizes on this evening - including concert tickets, gate admission for the fair, carnival wristbands and more.
* Special giveaway for our younger fans! The first 100 kids to come to the track will get a free back pack with school supplies!
* Beginning at 5:30 PM - Wiggle It Jiggleit Meet And Greet!
The World Champion and 2015 United States Harness Horse of the Year will have a pen set up near the track! What a great photo opp for fans!
* After the races - this big night will be topped of with a spectacular fireworks show!
