🍔🐾 NATIONAL CHEESEBURGER DAY! 🐾🍔

Tonight, Viva & Roxy were treated to a very special occasion…

A proper cheeseburger dinner! 🍔✨

The table was set.
The placemats were in place.
The flowers were arranged. 🌸
The cheeseburgers were served on their very own ceramic plates.

And, of course, there was one very important question…

WHO WILL FINISH FIRST?! 👀🍔

I had visions of a little cheeseburger eating contest. 😂

Both girls waited very politely for the official “GO!”

And then…

Well… let's just say they had VERY different ideas about how this dinner was supposed to go. 🤣

🍔🐾 AND THE CHEESEBURGER CHALLENGE BEGINS! 🐾🍔

So… remember that very elegant dinner I set up for Viva & Roxy? 😂

They waited patiently for me to say “GO!”

And then…

VIVA: 🏃‍♀️💨🍔
Apparently, the proper technique is to remove the entire cheeseburger from the plate, put it on the floor, and CHOMP. 😂

She was done in 55 SECONDS.
I think she's officially ready to sign up for the hot dog eating contest. 🏆🤣

ROXY: 🤔🍔
Roxy had a slightly different approach.

She's still a baby and is used to having her food cut into pieces, so she wasn't quite sure what to do with this giant cheeseburger!

She picked at it…
Checked out what Viva was doing…
Came back to her burger…
Moved it to the floor…

…and eventually decided that Mom serving bite-sized pieces by hand was a pretty excellent dinner service. 😂❤️

Final time: 4 minutes, 44 seconds.

So apparently we have:

🍔 Viva: “Bring on the eating contest!”
🍔 Roxy: “I'll be needing a cloth napkin and personal waiter, please.” 😂

Same cheeseburger.
Same starting line.
VERY different strategies.

🐾 Australian Shepherd — Breed of the Day! 🐾

Since the AKC has declared the Australian Shepherd the Breed of the Day, I have to give a little shout-out to my very special Aussie, Viva. ❤️

Viva is my first Australian Shepherd. Before her, I had German Shepherds, so I thought I knew dogs pretty well. Then Viva came along and taught me that there is a whole different level of funny, smart, busy, and attached-at-the-hip that comes with an Aussie! 😂

She is probably the funniest dog I have ever had.

When I laugh, Viva wiggles her entire butt like she is laughing right along with me. When she thinks she has done something particularly clever, she lets her tongue hang out sideways with the funniest expression—as if she is saying, “Yep. I meant to do that.” 😜

And then there are my shoes. 👟

Viva loves to take my shoes and stash them in her special places under the bed or in her crate. The funny part? If I show her one shoe, she is immediately ready to go find the other one. Apparently, she considers herself the official Shoe Retrieval Department. 😂

Of course, Viva and I also do dog agility, and that is where her incredible Aussie brain really shines. She gives me 100% every single time. She genuinely wants to get it right. But there is one little problem…

If I am slow with my directions, Viva doesn't have time for that nonsense. 🤣 She will make the decision for me and take the next obvious obstacle. After all, why wait for Mom when she already knows where we're going?

And this girl isn't just an agility dog. Viva has earned several AKC titles, including:

🏅 Companion Dog (CD) — a demanding form of traditional obedience
🏅 Rally Excellent — a more free-form style of obedience
🏅 Novice Dock Diving
🏅 Advanced Trick Dog

Clearly, she is pretty special. ❤️

But honestly, it's not the titles that make Viva so special to me. It's her personality, her enthusiasm, her incredible intelligence, and that goofy little Aussie sense of humor that makes every day with her an adventure.

She is my first Aussie, but I have a feeling she may have ruined me for any other breed. 😆

To all of you Aussie owners out there—I hope your Velcro dogs bring you as much laughter, joy, and crazy adventures as Viva brings me.

Viva, you are simply the best. ❤️🐾

ACCEPTED finally! 😂

I keep seeing these posted and want to do them but feeling the need to perfect our moves! ❤️ the awesome agility dog only knows one rhythm - as fast as she can!

We were not perfect and funny that the hardest part was the paws up on me. That’s just not something we do.

That was fun and we’ll have to work on moving to the music (even though this isn’t the right music for the challenge 😬 ). We did this in 30 minutes and 8 ‘takes’.

We have two wet dogs.

aka Roxy loves to race ❤️ but Viva doesn’t even know they are racing. She’s just an enjoying a good game of fetch. lol

❤️ running another brilliant Jumpers run at the NADAC Jumping Chollas Dog Days of Summer trial this past weekend at .

Viva also finished her 4th NATCH - that’s Championship title. This takes 40 Qualifying clean rounds in three different classes to get 1 NATCH.

A little lunch time workout for the girls working on proprioception. They are always happy for treating opportunities. I think ❤️ likes showing off and likes doing stuff her big sis can do. for me!

Summertime when it is 110 degrees outside - probably hotter than that now.
