🐴 Did you know?🐴

Have you ever noticed how peaceful it feels to spend time with a horse?

There may actually be some science behind that feeling!

Researchers studying the connection between horses and humans have found that during some interactions, patterns in their heart activity can begin to synchronize. In other words, our bodies may actually begin responding to one another as we spend time together.

It doesn’t mean our hearts suddenly beat at exactly the same rate. Instead, researchers are discovering that horses and humans may become physiologically connected during certain interactions.

We already knew there was something pretty amazing about slowing down, opening a good book, and spending time with a horse.

Turns out, our hearts might agree. 💜

✨ School is back, and it’s time to get excited about READING! ✨

There’s something magical about watching a child discover a story they can’t put down - the excitement, the imagination, the questions, and that little spark that makes them want to read just one more page.

As we head into a new school year, let’s help our kids remember that reading isn’t just something we have to do at school… it’s something we get to do! 📖

And what better way to celebrate the joy of reading than by reading alongside some pretty amazing four-legged friends?

Our next Read with the Horses is coming up!

📅 Saturday, September 12
⏰ 1:00–4:00 PM
📍 Stockhands Horses for Healing

Come read, connect, explore, and make some memories with our wonderful horses. Whether your child is a bookworm, a reluctant reader, or somewhere in between, we’d love to see them there! ❤️

🐴 Registration is open! Sign up here:

Let’s start the school year by reminding our kids that there is a whole world waiting for them between the pages of a book.

One of the best parts of Read with the Horses is that the story continues all year long. We're so grateful for our amazing partnership with the Delaware County District Library, which makes it possible for us to offer this special program free every month.

Whether you're a returning reader or joining us for the first time, we can't wait to share more books, horses, and unforgettable memories with you. See you Saturday afternoon at the barn! 💜

Don’t forget! Tomorrow is the last day to turn in your Summer Reading Challenge Trackers!

If you’ve been reading all summer (and we hope you have!), be sure to turn in your completed tracker so we can celebrate all of your hard work. We can’t wait to see how many books and minutes you’ve logged!

Send pictures of your completed tracker to [email protected] to be entered into the raffle.

Thank you for making reading part of your summer adventure. We are so proud of all of our readers! 🐴💜📚

📚 The Summer Reading Challenge may be coming to an end in just a few days, but the adventure doesn't have to stop there!

Every story you read sparks your imagination and opens the door to a new adventure. So keep turning pages, exploring new books, and making reading part of your everyday routine.

The horses can't wait to hear about all the books you've been reading! 🐴❤️
