GBF’S MISSION

The Golden Bark Foundation is dedicated to rescuing and advocating for at-risk senior dogs, fulfilling their immediate needs and sending them off to a love filled retirement home. We focus on rescuing senior dogs because they are often forgotten and cast aside at the point in their lives when they need the most care. When they end up in shelters, people prefer to adopt younger dogs

that require less care and maintenance with fuller lives ahead. We plan to rescue and find homes for these senior dogs. They deserve to know love in the latter portions of their life. Every dog deserves a home to live out their golden years.

She got a much-needed groom yesterday thanks to our talented friend 🤍

Mary is such an easygoing senior—she’s potty trained, quiet, loves walks and gets the occasional zoomies! She does amazing during grooming. She even gets along well with dogs, cats and even rabbits!

We’re all a little shocked she hasn’t been adopted yet!

We’re so dang pumped to have Moss Tattoo Studio joining us at this year’s Golden Gala—with flash tattoos available during our fundraiser! 🖤✨

Last year, this incredible team donated tattoos to our silent auction and raffle. Not only are they donating again but also offering flash tattoos live at the event—how exciting!!

Based in Ogden, Moss Tattoo Studio is Utah’s first eco tattoo studio, proudly woman-owned and operated. They’re helping shift the tattoo industry by using biodegradable supplies and reducing plastic waste and carbon impact—proving that sustainability and artistry can go hand in hand.

We’re honored to have them supporting senior dogs in such a unique and creative way!

Welcome Pringle to The Golden Bark Foundation!

Not much is known about Pringle just yet—he was found as a stray, and he’s a little deaf and a little blind. But one thing is for sure: he’s absolutely adorable.

We’re excited to get to know him better and learn what his needs are. He’ll be seeing our vet soon to get a full checkup.

Huge thanks to his amazing temporary foster for stepping in until his permanent foster is ready later this month!

It truly takes a village to help senior dogs in need, and we’re so proud of the community that came together for Pringle❤️

Let’s hear it for Wally’s family, joining us once again to support our biggest night of the year! 🐾✨

As we prepare for our 4th annual gala, we’re especially grateful for the continued support of the Brodowski Family. This year, they’re sponsoring in loving memory of their sweet family dog Wally, who recently passed away.

Wally was a cherished part of their lives, and this tribute is a beautiful way to honor his memory 🤍

Losing a pet is incredibly hard—and the emotions that follow can be even harder. Grief doesn’t follow a straight path, and it can feel isolating, overwhelming, and heavy.

If you’re in that space right now, you don’t have to go through it alone. Our Grief Support Group is here for anyone mourning the loss of a beloved pet—whether it’s recent or something you’ve been carrying for a while.

Our next meeting is Tuesday, August 19th at 6:30 PM (MT) and will be held virtually so you can join from the comfort of your home. It’s a safe, judgment-free space where you can talk, share memories, cry, or simply listen. All feelings are welcome here.

July Numbers ✨

July was a quiet and slow month for GBF — in fact, it was our lowest vet bill month to date! We had just one adoption and no new intakes.

But that’s about to change — we’re excited to be bringing in more dogs again! We’re currently working on finding fosters for a few senior dogs we’re pulling from shelters, so these numbers will definitely climb in August.

Please note: these numbers do not reflect our overhead expenses for running the rescue.
