Raptor Resource Project

Raptor Resource Project We research birds, share the lives of raptors, and transform passion into knowledge and action.

We create, improve, and directly maintain over 40 nests and nest sites, provide training in nest site creation and management, and develop innovations in nest site management and viewing that bring people closer to the natural world. Our birdcams include:

After the Fledge July 16-19 2026
Maybe River Valley Raptors Inc. will bring this beautiful Golden eagle when they share some of their incredible raptors. It was so exciting to see it last year!

Have you been watching the Wisconsin Kestrels? Right now, a pair of American kestrels is raising its next generation in the Driftless. For over 25 years, they have returned to a limestone-footed barn near Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, raising generation after generation above a grassland that rolls toward the wooded hills and hidden streams of this singular landscape.

Across North America, kestrel populations have fallen sharply: casualties of disappearing grasslands, aging farm infrastructure, and changing land use. Sites like this one are increasingly rare, which makes watching the kestrels both a pleasure and a reminder of what's worth protecting.

Watch live here: https://www.raptorresource.org/birdcams/american-kestrels/ or at our partner Cornell's website: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/cams/american-kestrels/

Images from Great Spirit Bluff, Castle Rock, and Decorah. While banding season actually starts about a month prior to our first banding date, we'll be banding falcons in Muscatine Iowa on Friday, and at Great Spirit Bluff on Sunday. Elaine's nestlings will be 18 and 19 days old!
