When your mom is a dog trainer and decides you’ve been ‘on your worst behavior’ and ‘setting a bad example,’ so obviously the solution is forced training in 25° weather. Reminder to all dogs: do NOT get a dog trainer for a mom. She doesn’t let you run feral. She doesn’t let you bully your sister, the Belgian Malinois. She drags you to all her training sessions and uses YOU as the distraction because apparently you’re a ‘problem.’ I personally think I’m perfect. She disagrees. HR has been notified.🐾🔥

Took Scoob out for some public training today and had a great time. High traffic areas are where training really gets tested. Other dogs, people, vehicles passing by, all of it shows us exactly how solid the obedience is. When we’re out in public, you’re going to see the obedience falter a little bit.. That’s the ultimate test.

Sometimes you’ll see a little extra stress or a dog struggling to hold a stay. That doesn’t mean the dog doesn’t know the behavior. It means the environment is harder. That’s why getting dogs out into new locations matters. Training has to be practiced in new places to create real world reliability.

✨ About My Dog’s Coach ✨

Did you know that My Dog’s Coach offers private training sessions right in your home? We also offer board and train options with pick up and drop off from your location. We work with clients from all over, and the majority of dogs who board with us are transported directly to and from their homes for convenience and reduced stress.

My goal has always been to make training as accommodating and convenient for you as possible, while still setting your dog up for real, lasting success. Training does not stop when your dog goes home. Every client receives ongoing guidance, resources, and a customized training plan tailored specifically to their dog. This includes multiple private sessions, clear instructions, and continued support so you are never left guessing what to do next.

I focus on practical, real world training that fits into your lifestyle. That means clear communication, consistency, and accountability for both dogs and owners. I do not believe in one size fits all training. Every dog is different, and their training should be too.

We are also actively working toward launching an online dog training community to provide continued education, support, and connection beyond in person sessions.

If you are looking for honest guidance, realistic expectations, and a trainer who supports you every step of the way, you are in the right place 🐾

With dogs, most behavior problems are not failures of obedience. They are failures of preparation.

When we act early, we do not need to react later.

Action is structure before chaos.
Action is clear communication before confusion.
Action is setting boundaries before resentment builds.
Action is consistency before frustration.
Action is transparency before trust breaks down.

When dogs are set up for success, there is less correcting, less punishing, less retraining, and far less stress for everyone involved.

The same applies outside of dog training.

Most conflict does not come from people being difficult. It comes from unclear expectations, poor boundaries, lack of accountability, and reactive decision making.

If you do not want constant damage control, create systems that work.
If you do not want resentment, communicate clearly.
If you do not want reactions, lead with action.

Preparation is quieter than correction, but it is far more powerful.

Action always beats reaction.

A little peek at what I’ve been working on lately.
School stuff, power plans, and building out a course for shelter and rescue staff.

Going into 2026, my focus is education. Plain and simple.
The more the people working directly with these dogs understand handling, body language, and behavior, the better the outcomes are for everyone involved.

I am officially booking shelter, rescue, and school trainings. I will come out for free and talk through proper dog handling, reading dog body language, what your role is as a foster or shelter employee, and what things actually help set dogs up for adoption success. We also cover what behaviors should be communicated, how to safely introduce dogs to other dogs, and how to test dogs with cats in a way that makes sense.

If you work in rescue, sheltering, or even a school setting and want someone to come in and educate your team, reach out. This is the work I care about and where I want to put my energy.

Also a quick push for my Skool account. It’s still being built and evolving, but there is already a lot of solid free content up. I’m actively adding lessons and organizing tiers as I go, so if you jump in now you can start learning right away.

Go check it out, use the free stuff, and grow with me. Education is where I’m headed and I’m not slowing down.

Quick scheduling update for next week

This morning I found out there is a water line break in my neighborhood that is impacting several houses. Unfortunately the break happens to be located in our yard.

The water company came out today and marked the dig area and almost the entire front yard will be dug up. This is scheduled as a project for next week. I do not have exact dates yet but it will be during the week. We should only be without water for one to two days while repairs are actively being done.

Because of the amount of digging and equipment, there will need to be adjustments with leash walking, movement around the property, and general safety for dogs in my care. I may also plan to take dogs out for structured outings rather than being home during parts of the project.

For that reason, I may need to reschedule some appointments next week once I receive confirmed dates. If you already have an appointment scheduled, it may stay as is or it may be adjusted. If you have not heard from me yet, please feel free to check in.

I will not be booking any new appointments for next week until I have more details so I do not overcommit or disrupt anyone’s plans.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding. I have been balancing new clients, current clients, and life in general and truly appreciate everyone’s flexibility. More updates will be shared as soon as I have confirmed information.

Please donate if you can.

This is something I am incredibly proud of and something I have been helping with every way I possibly can. I help select the dogs we are pulling, assist with transport when I am available, and advocate on social media to make sure we have the funding to keep this going.

It costs $200 per dog to pull them. We have a separate account specifically for this project. When you communicate that your donation is for the Berkeley County Animal Control project, every single dollar goes directly into that dedicated account for Berkeley County.

This has been a work in progress since 2025, and I am beyond proud of how far we have come. We have already gotten dogs pulled, and we can continue to save more lives if we have the support to do so.

I am asking you to support us if you are able. Even a couple dollars helps. $5, $20, $100, anything at all makes a real difference. Every donation directly impacts dogs in our community and creates positive change where it is desperately needed.

This is about helping our local dogs, supporting responsible rescue, and making a real difference right here at home. Thank you for believing in this and for supporting something that truly matters.
