๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ› June 2026 Update - Please Read ๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ›

Beginning June 2026, all communication regarding the Berkeley County TVAR program will be handled directly through Charleston Animal Societyโ€™s Berkeley Campus (CASBC) casberkeley.org/tvar/

First and most importantly:
๐Ÿšจ THE TVAR PROGRAM IS NOT ENDING. ๐Ÿšจ
June dates are below ๐Ÿ‘‡ ๐Ÿ—“๏ธ

The program will continue operating under Charleston Animal Society Berkeley Campus, who has managed TVAR in Berkeley County since receiving the management contract for the Berkeley County Animal Shelter on July 1, 2025. ๐Ÿพ

This page has been run entirely by volunteers since 2022 to help spread awareness, provide information, and support the community cats of Berkeley County. We have truly enjoyed being part of the program since the beginning and helping grow awareness and support for TNR in our community. โค๏ธ We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported the program, educated neighbors, and advocated for community cats along the way. ๐Ÿˆ

Since CASBC has been overseeing the program, we stayed on as volunteers to help during the transition period. Now, we feel it is the right time for us to step down from managing communications for this page. Our website, email, and phone number will all be disconnected. All communication should be directed to the shelter.

The volunteers behind Berkeley County Community Cats started a nonprofit, Forgotten Paws of the South, two years ago, and moving forward we will be focusing more heavily on that mission and the work ahead there. ๐Ÿฉต๐Ÿพ

Thank you all for allowing us to be part of this journey. We look forward to continuing to volunteer and support TNR efforts whenever possible, and we are excited to see Charleston Animal Society Berkeley Campus continue moving the TVAR program forward for Berkeley Countyโ€™s community cats. ๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ›๐Ÿ’œ

Make sure to follow Charleston Animal Society Berkeley Campus because this page will become inactive!

We NEED volunteers THIS WEEKEND. While there are SEVERAL high priority volunteer roles, recovery volunteers are crucial to making sure we can accept the maximum volume of cats. The goal is 80 cats per day, but if there arenโ€™t recovery volunteers, thereโ€™s no way to safely accept that many cats! Please sign up todayโ€”must be 18 or older and must be a volunteer with Charleston Animal Society Main/Berkeley Campus.

Weโ€™re heading into another busy TVAR clinic at Charleston Animal Society Berkeley Campus, but weโ€™re short on volunteersโ€”and that means fewer community cats will get the care they need. ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿฑ

Thanks to CAS, MSPCA, and Bissell, this weekend is a chance to reduce overpopulation and improve the lives of outdoor cats through Trap-Vaccinate-Alter-Return. But we still canโ€™t do it without YOU.

Even a couple of hours can help us serve more cats and support our community. Letโ€™s show up for them this weekend! ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’™
