Just got the sad news that one of my favorite foster dogs Joey went to the rainbow bridge today 💔
Although we are saddened by this news we are forever grateful for the wonderful life that he had.
I’ll never forget the day Jan 14-2015 that I drove to Cleveland County and pulled him on his last day. He was slated to be euthanized at only 9 months old due to his breed & for space. His shelter name was Ringo and I immediately changed it to Joey… new start, new name! He was such a good boy and a pleasure to foster I absolutely adored him.
Daryl Anne Strickland with FurBabies Animal Rescue selected Joey as a candidate for the New Leash On Life Program.
Joey flourished through his training in Class #3 and graduated that May and was adopted upon graduation to a wonderful family from SC.
Joey went on to live an amazing life at the beach with his Boxer sister Lady (cancer took her too 💔) and his new pawparents.
I received updates over the years and my heart was always so happy for him.
Joey lived 12 happy years and he was loved by so many.
Our hearts go out to his family and may he rest easy. You were an amazing dog Joey
