Cats in Carriers 🐱

For the safety of your pet, we advise that all feline patients be brought to the clinic in a carrier. This ensures that your cat cannot get away in the parking lot or be injured by other animals in the clinic. This is also the safest way to travel with a cat, for both you and them. 🙂

Happy World Chocolate Day! 🍫🍩🍪
As you enjoy this sweet day, remember that chocolate is not safe for pets!

Chocolate contains high levels of fat, sugar, and a chemical called Theobromine which is toxic to dogs and cats. Symptoms of chocolate intoxication include vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, restlessness, incoordination, elevated body temperature, low heart rate and blood pressure, and can even progress to coma and death.

Choose safer treat options instead, such as blueberries, strawberries, watermelon, cool whip, peanut butter, and cheese! 😁

With summer in full swing, take extra care to prevent heat stroke in your pet. 🥵

Limit outdoor time to the early morning and late evening when temperatures are at their lowest. Provide plenty of fresh, cool water as well as ample shade.
Some breeds, like short nosed dogs, are at a higher risk. Just 15 short minutes can be enough to cause heat stroke these extreme temperatures.
