This here is our Rocky or the Rock, he is a friendly one year old lab/hound mix who is approximately 35 pounds. He has lived his entire life outside in a small kennel with a barrel for a shelter. As you can see from his extensive time outside he has now become quite a horticulturist and is known for his gardening skills. He is a sleek, handsome, well-mannered, loyal, quiet, gentle, smart, friendly young man - a complete package. Rocky is housebroken, good with other dogs, and humans of all ages. Meet our cute little American shorthair, Silver Tabby kittens Duncan and Deacon. They are a little over four months old, approximately 3.5 pounds and double bundles of joy. They are fully vetted and now ready for adoption. For more information please contact Lynn Waters at [email protected].

We saved Nora, a one year old Mountain Cur/Rhodesian Ridgeback from a last minute euthanasia at an nearby shelter that was well over capacity. This sweet little firecracker is full of energy and can be seen scaling the highest mountain with a smile. Nora LOVES other pups and even cats. She has an absolute blast playing with her humans and going for walks, playing ball, roughhousing with her furry friends, or just being an all-around goober. This girl would thrive with a big fenced in yard and a human to walk and play with her to burn off some energy. One thing for sure, you will never have a dull day with this ray of light at your side. Who can provide Miss Minnie a forever home? She is 20 lbs of beagle mix beauty, and is quite put out that people aren't fighting over her.

Back story: She was found as a stray and very very emaciated. A kind family saved her life - they took her in, fed her for a few days, and called us.

Current story: She is on the rebound! Foster Sam has been fattening her up - 5 more pounds may be just right. She is good with kids, dogs, cats and adult humans. Crate and leash trained. And she is SMALL! Very good girl. She will be spayed on 7/29 so a trial adoption until that time is acceptable.

Busy week for BCAWS dogs.

Moving on are:
*Tennessee, Callie, and Jerry who have been adopted.
*Our 8 shep mix pups who have been tagged by or transported to rescue. Thank you Char-Wills German Shepherd Rescue, Mid-Atlantic German Shepherd Rescue, Homeward Bound Dog Rescue of New York, and transporter Go North!
* Poppi who was transported to her American Black and Tan Coonhound Rescue foster today. Thank you ABCTR and transporter Janet.

Welcome our newbies:
*Dakota, a scared little guy from the shelter who is no longer scared with fosters Crystal and Kevin.
*Minnie, a very skinny girl taken in by a kind family who fed her and saved her life till we could get her.
*Poppy the puppy, a 7-wk old girl with hairline fractures on both front legs resulting from her chained mama pulled the doghouse over on her. She will go to her Maryville/Alcoa Animal Rescue Center foster next week.

Kentucky is a three year old lab/hound mix weighing in at 45 pounds. He is a little shy at first but then his sweet personality emerges and he showers you with kisses. Kentucky loves his humans and has fun playing with his doggo friends. He enjoys chasing after toys, exploring new things, and hanging out with you outside or inside. He'll help you cook - he spent a few weeks at chef school, but was suspended for eating the goods. He is incredibly smart and absorbs training tips quickly. Check out this hunk of handsome! 11 year old friendly boy Sherman was brought to BCAWS when he lost his owner due to illness. His in-person cuteness factor is a 10! He is outgoing, very friendly, house trained, leash and crate trained too. He loves his people and his doggo buddies too. He recently had entropion surgery and needs daily drops for dry eye. Otherwise he is perfect! Would you give Sherman a chance at a happily forever after?
