To kennel a dog for hours.
I see posts about these daily
and frankly we receive many many messages about this. The number one reason people think they need to “rehome” their dog.
Let’s dive into a small glimpse of Jenny’s life.
She dreams of running and frolicking in open meadows.
Tongue flying out of the side of her mouth, all four legs going as fast as possible,
a huge smile planted right in her face,
running back to me for reassurance and going right back to playing.
Where there are no boundaries stopping her from pure bliss.
How do I know this you may ask?
Because when she gets “free time” she does just as I mentioned above.
Until reality slaps her right in the face and she is back between 8 kennel panels. Panic and anxiety starts setting in as barking from 40,50 even 60 other dogs. So much commotion and chaos floods her body.
In the kennel, she hardly eats, she lays around. She is sad. Depressed.
….because she wasn’t bred or design to be held in confinement.
Dogs. Were. Not. Designed. For. This.
We have a lot of “Jenny’s” that just crave attention. To break free from this life.
Please don’t get it twisted…..
they are safe here, we provide them with adequate shelter, food, water, medical assistance(when needed)vaccinations, toys, etc.
But this is no life.
This is one huge reason we keep are numbers low.
You may feel guilty about your dog being kenneled for hours on hours while you are away.
Thinking they would be better off somewhere else.
There is no where else.
I am here to reassure you, they are perfectly fine. And please don’t feel guilty.
They are much better there in their own comfort zone surrounded by their human and fur family and siblings. Than in a shelter life.
