🩵 Huge thank you to the amazing team from Old Navy in Millville for spending the day volunteering at the sanctuary! 🧼🐷🌿

This crew rolled up their sleeves and got to work—scrubbing and cleaning water tubs, scooping p**p in the pig pens, and picking up twigs and sticks to help make our pig areas look extra clean and tidy.

They always go above and beyond when they visit, and today was no exception. We truly love having them out here—their energy, kindness, and hard work make such a big difference for our animals and the space they call home.

Thank you again, Old Navy Millville! We appreciate you more than you know! We are already looking forward to your next company volunteer day! 💙👖🐖

If you’ve visited our sanctuary before, you might remember the grassy alleyway that runs between our cow and sheep pastures. Usually, we mow it to keep it tidy—but today, we had a better idea!

We set up a temporary gate and opened it up to let the sheep, llamas, and alpacas enjoy a surprise snack break in the alleyway. So far, only two have discovered the open gate: Kuzco the llama (of course!) and our curious girl Hope the sheep.

The rest of the herd is still oblivious, but we’re pretty sure it won’t stay a secret for long. 😄

🛠️ A Huge Thank You to Ed! 🛠️

We want to give a heartfelt shoutout to Ed, who generously volunteered his time, talents, and resources to help our sanctuary in such a meaningful way. Several of our picnic tables had warped or rotted wood, and instead of letting them go to waste, Ed stepped in and brought them back to life!

Not only did he donate his time, but he also purchased all the materials out of his own pocket and completely refaced the tables—making them sturdier, safer, and ready to serve our visitors for many more years to come.

Ed, your kindness and craftsmanship mean the world to us. These tables aren’t just places to sit—they’re places where families connect, and where people fall in love with the magic of the sanctuary.

Thank you for being part of that magic. 💚

💚 A Huge Thank You to Dawn & Brian! 💚🐢

We want to send a giant tortoise-sized thank you to Dawn and Brian for their incredibly generous produce donation! Our shelled friends are munching away happily on apples, carrots, bananas, and a beautiful variety of leafy greens—all thanks to your kindness.

These gifts aren’t just food—they’re enrichment, nutrition, and love in edible form. Your thoughtfulness makes a real difference, and our five tortoises (and the humans who care for them) are so grateful.

From all of us here at the sanctuary—thank you, thank you, thank you! 🐢🍌🥕🥬🍎

🚨Wild Goose Chase… Literally! 🪶

Today we got an unexpected call about a Canada goose with a fishing lure and line tangled in her wing. While our sanctuary typically focuses on farm animals, this one was close by—so we jumped into action.

After a bit of a goose hunt (yes, an actual goose hunt), we found her. The poor thing had fishing line wrapped around her wing, with a sharp lure hooked into her skin. What followed was nearly an hour of us running around like maniacs with our trusty net, trying to catch her without causing more stress.

Eventually, she darted into some thick brush, and that’s where we finally caught up with her. Just as we were bringing her to the truck to assess the injury, the police showed up! Apparently, someone called 911 thinking we were trying to harm the goose. (We get it—the scene probably looked a little wild from a distance!)

Thankfully, once the officers realized what was happening, they were not only understanding—they helped us remove the fishing hook from her wing. Teamwork makes the dream work! Thank you Millville Police!

We gave her a quick antiseptic spray, checked to make sure she was otherwise okay, and then released her back to her flock. We’re happy to report she’s now back with her family and looking much more comfortable.

This isn’t our usual rescue, but we’re so glad we were able to help this beautiful girl get the care she needed. 💚

Fishing gear can cause real harm to wildlife. Please always clean up your lines, hooks, and lures—it makes a big difference.

🎡 Come See Us at the Cumberland County Fair! 🐷🐓🐐

We’re so excited to be set up this week at the Cumberland County Fair with a booth dedicated to spreading the word about our Sanctuary! 🏡💚

Did you know we’re right here in Cumberland County? With 43 acres, we’re proud to be the largest farmed animal sanctuary in South Jersey—and we’re open to visitors! 🐾 So many people still don’t know we’re here, and we’d love to change that.

Our mission is to give animals rescued from cruelty, neglect, and abandonment a second chance at life—surrounded by love, safety, and compassion. ❤️

If you’re at the fair, please stop by our booth and say hi! 👋 We’d love to meet you, share more about the animals we care for, and show you how you can get involved—whether by visiting, volunteering, or simply spreading the word.

Let’s make sure everyone in South Jersey knows about the healing and hope happening right here in their own backyard. 🐮✨

🚨 IMPORTANT: SCAM WARNING 🚨

We’ve just learned that someone has created a fake Venmo account pretending to be our Sanctuary and has been sending money requests to kind-hearted people who have supported us in the past. We are furious.

Let us be very clear:
👉 Our organization will NEVER send out donation requests via Venmo.
If you’ve received a payment request from an account claiming to be us — it is 100% fake. Please call to report it to Venmo immediately.

We are heartbroken and furious that someone would stoop so low as to try and scam people who are just trying to help animals. It’s hard enough doing this work every day — the idea that someone would take advantage of our supporters and take money away from animals who need it? It’s disgusting.

💔 To those who received one of these scam requests: we’re so sorry. Please don’t ever send money based on a message or request alone. Always double-check.

We are working hard to finish our official website, where donations will be handled securely. In the meantime, if you choose to donate through Venmo, please double-check that it’s the correct account — and don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly if you’re unsure.

Thank you for standing by us — and for standing up against scammers who try to exploit kindness.

With love and frustration,
Freedom Farm Animal Rescue

🌾 Two Dollar Tuesday: Grain Edition!

Can $2 really make a difference? At our Sanctuary, it absolutely can. ❤️

Every day, our rescued animals rely on grain to keep their bellies full and their bodies strong. From the tiniest chicken to the chunkiest pig, they’re counting on us—and we’re counting on you.

Today, we’re asking our amazing community:
Will you chip in just $2 to help us buy grain for our animals? If you can donate more than $2 you can absolutely do that as well!

It may not seem like much, but when we come together, $2 becomes a full feed bin, a happy herd, and a whole lot of love.
