I recently said to a friend that I was in need of a good laugh. Then a dog named Summer came along and did just that. ☀️

It’s been an absolute joy working with this pretty lady so far. She has such a fun, bright little personality, is so smart, and LOVES to learn. I just about laughed and smiled through the entire lesson. Her name couldn’t fit her more perfectly. I’m looking forward to watching her progress as we work on foundational skills and setting her up for a lifetime of success.

As always, feeling so grateful for this work 🤍

If you’ve ever potty-trained a dog, this email hits.

A dog p**ping outside may seem like a ridiculous thing to celebrate to some people, but to a new dog guardian, it often represents a huge win after a lot of frustration and time spent cleaning up messes. So yes, housebreaking IS a big deal!

I will always love receiving emails like this. Please keep them coming, dog p**p and all 😁

Many people don’t realize that there are very few regulations governing much of the dog care industry, including boarding, daycare, dog walking, and dog training. That means it’s especially important to do your research and ask questions when choosing someone to care for or work with your dog.

Here are a few questions I recommend asking and considering:

-Tour the facility. If you’re considering boarding or daycare, ask to see where the dogs spend their time, rest, eat, and sleep.

-What is the staff-to-dog ratio?

-How will you be updated? Ask what communication you can expect while your dog is in their care.

-What training and handling methods do they use? Ask how they handle, manage, train, and respond to dogs, especially when a dog is fearful, stressed, or reactive.

-What is their education and experience? Are they insured and bonded? Ask about their professional training, certifications, continuing education, and experience working with dogs.

Please don’t be afraid to ask questions! A professional/reputable organization or individual should be transparent and willing to explain their policies, methods, qualifications, and approach to care.
