💜 RESCUED 💜

Another very grateful little boy has left the shelter! Peter took his freedom ride today thanks to All Mutts Matter Rescue! Thank you to Tara and everyone at All Mutts Matter and of course to his wonderful foster family for once again opening their hearts and home to another shelter pup in need.

We can’t say this enough, we are so very thankful for all of our amazing Rescue partners and to their dedicated fosters who make saving all these very deserving dogs possible!

Congratulations Peter! Happy life little boy! 💜

🚨 New to the Adoption Floor – Meet Grady! 🚨

It’s boat season—and if you can’t swing a Grady-White, how about the next best thing? Meet Grady, our handsome, well-built pup with a name that’s all class and adventure.

🐾 About Grady:
Grady is around 2 years old and bursting with puppy energy. His piercing blue eyes will stop you in your tracks, and his friendly personality makes him a favorite among our volunteers.

🐕 He’s currently learning the ropes—working on polite leash walking, mastering his “sit,” and practicing calm exits from his kennel. With time, structure, and continued training, Grady is going to be an incredible companion.

💪 Grady is a strong dog who will need an experienced handler to guide him. At this time, he may be too much for other dogs and older kids (13+) would be the best fit due to his size and energy. We’re not sure about cats, so we recommend caution in feline households.

🩺 Grady is up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered.

📍 Come meet him at our shelter—
615 Freemont Ave, Jackson
Daily from 1–4 PM

Set sail on a new adventure with Grady—you might just find he’s the perfect co-captain. 🚤🐶

Another sweet soul has been saved, thanks to one of our incredible rescue partners!

A shelter is no place for a senior dog, especially one like 15-year-old Brady, who was surrendered when his family could no longer care for him. He was in desperate need of comfort, love, and a safe place to land.

Danielle, the director of Peyton’s Place Animal Rescue, had recently experienced the heartbreaking loss of her own 15-year-old Yorkie—also named Brady. When she heard about this little guy, she knew it was meant to be and didn’t hesitate to step in and help.

Thank you to everyone who played a part in getting this sweet boy out of the shelter and into a loving foster home. He’s safe, he’s loved, and he’s exactly where he belongs. ❤️

🚨Our little shelter is BEYOND FULL — and we need your help sharing our posts! 🚨

Many dogs are waiting far too long for the loving homes they deserve. Usually the ones who are sitting there longer are those who need to be an only dog.

We’re a small shelter covering a large part of Ocean County along with our sister shelter in Manahawkin. They are also maxed out. Right now adoptions just aren’t keeping pace with intakes.

If you’ve been thinking about adopting, now is the time. Even sharing this post can make a difference.

🌟 New to the Adoption Floor: Meet Zayla! 🐾

Zayla is a stunning 3-year-old girl with eyes that will stop you in your tracks. 💛 She ended up at the shelter through no fault of her own after her owner’s living situation changed. She’s been well-loved and well-socialized—but shelter life is not for her.

Because of her enthusiastic happy tail (yes, it’s a thing!), Zayla is currently recovering in our quieter meet-and-greet room. While it’s helping her heal, it’s not a long-term solution—and it limits space for other dogs too. She needs out and into a loving home where she belongs.

✨ What makes Zayla special:
• Walks beautifully on leash 🚶‍♀️
• Super gentle taking treats 🍖
• Knows “sit” like a pro and is eager to learn more 🎓
• Playful, loving, and full of potential 🐶

She did okay meeting another dog but would need a proper match, patient people, and time to decompress. Older kids would be best.

✅ Spayed
✅ Microchipped
✅ UTD on vaccines
🎯 Ready for her forever home!

📍 Come meet Zayla between 1–4 PM daily at:
615 Freemont Ave, Jackson, NJ

Let’s get this gorgeous girl the home she deserves. ❤️

URGENT: Smoki Needs a Home! 🤎🐾

Smoki has been waiting far too long. This 3-year-old brindle sweetheart looks like an oversized puppy, with eyes full of hope and a face that just wants love. 💔 Despite being easy on leash, super affectionate, and full of playful energy—he keeps getting overlooked. Why? Simply because he needs to be the only pet in the home.

Dogs like Smoki are often passed by, but he deserves a chance just as much as any other dog. Maybe even more.

Smoki is:
🐾 Social and attention-loving
🍖 Food motivated and fun
🎾 Toy-obsessed in the best way
🚶‍♂️ An easy walker with great leash manners

He’s already neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped—he’s ready to go home today. He just needs someone to say yes.

Smoki would thrive with a family that has the time and heart to continue his training and include him in their daily lives. Because of his strength and size, he’d do best in a home with older kids (10+).

📍 Come meet this brindle beauty between 1–4 PM at:
615 Freemont Ave, Jackson, NJ

Let’s not let him spend another day waiting. Smoki is ready to love you—are you ready to love him back?

💗Meet Sienna💗– a stunning 4-year-old brindle beauty with the cutest bunny ears you’ve ever seen. While you can’t fully appreciate them in pictures, they stand straight up, and when she gets excited, she does the most adorable bunny-zoomy walk.

Sienna was found as a stray, and it seemed like she didn’t even know how to walk on a leash. After just one week, she’s like a different dog. She is sweet, affectionate, excited to meet new people, and loves her walks.

She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, and microchipped. She was unsure around dogs and cats, and kids over 10 would be best for her. Sienna would thrive with a family who can continue her training and give her the love and guidance she deserves.

📍 Come meet Sienna at the Northern Ocean County Animal Facility!

Open to the public 1–4 PM daily

Our two precious little girls are still waiting. They are the longest residents in the Shelter and two of the sweetest girls you will ever meet.

Pebbles, on the left, is a beautiful petite brindle pity mix with the most gorgeous brown eyes. She is approximately 4 years old and came to the shelter as a stray. Pebbles has passed all assessments and has no resource guarding. She walks nicely on leash, takes treats gently, loves to run, play and stretch her legs and even more loves to sit and just hang out with her person. If she could, this little sweetheart would sit outside all day on a bench in the shade and fresh air just relaxing by your side. She is definitely a favorite, but Pebbles does need to be your one and only and that is the only reason that we can think of that she keeps getting passed over. Trust us when we say if you have this little lady in your life, you won’t need anyone else, she just wants to be someone’s special girl.

Our other amazing little lady is Hazel, a “lowrider”, sturdy little girl around 3 years old who also has been waiting so patiently for someone to take her home. She is a great little girl who is energetic, also loves her hikes and playing ball, and after her time out with the volunteers, she goes right back to her kennel, does a few of her yoga poses and then settles in for a nap. Hazel has also passed all of her assessments, has no resource guarding, but she too must be a one and only pet. A gorgeous and amazing little girl who would be a perfect companion.

Our long timers Pebbles and Hazel are available for immediate adoption or to any 501(c)3 Rescue that can help them out of the shelter. If your Rescue can help or if you are interested in fostering, please email [email protected].

Please stop by the shelter and ask to meet Pebbles and Hazel. They are both such deserving little ladies. We know their families are out there somewhere. Please give them a chance. Pebbles and Hazel are both spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped and ready to go home with you.

Northern Ocean County Animal Facility, 615 Freemont Ave., Jackson, NJ. The Shelter is open seven days a week from 1 to 4 PM.

Please share 🩷Pebbles and Hazel🩷

UPDATE: Rescue has been secured!

💔 RESCUE URGENTLY NEEDED 💔

This is beyond heartbreaking. We have a 15 year-old little Yorkie in urgent need of Rescue. Brady was a recent surrender to the Shelter and has some medical issues. We need a 501(c)3 Rescue to pull him immediately.

Sadly, we have reached out to numerous Rescues and either they have no room for him, don’t want dogs with medical issues or they don’t even respond. This is heartbreaking for a 15-year-old little boy to be sitting in the shelter.

We are asking any approved 501(c)3 Rescue that can help this boy to please email kathleenfrett1@gmail as soon as possible.

Please share Brady 💔

!! RESCUES NEEDED !!

As we have said before, our “Rescue only” list continues to grow and in addition to our beautiful little girl Raven our longest “Rescue only” dog, unfortunately, we have added two more dogs who also need help from 501(c)3 Rescues.

On the left, we have our beautiful girl Daisy, who was previously on the adoption floor. Daisy is a very sweet girl who passed all of her assessments and was adopted a few months ago, but sadly, has now been returned to the shelter and we are looking for a 501(c)3 Rescue to help her. She is an approximately 2 year old Lab mix who does have either a deformity or an injury to her lower jaw. She is a great little girl who is truly dedicated to her people. She has lived with older children and cats, but does need to be a one and only dog.

Our other black beauty is Biggie, a six-year-old Chinese Shar Pei. This boy has also passed all of his assessments. Biggie is a calm older guy, who needs someone familiar with the breed so we are looking for a Rescue to help him safely out of the shelter.

We have many dogs in need of help. If you are an approved 501(c)3 Rescue and can help or if interested in fostering, please email [email protected].

Our small shelter continues to be at capacity as the surrenders and strays arrive every day. We need adopters and we need Rescues!

Here are some of the faces that you will see if you visit the Shelter. All of these dogs are available for immediate adoption or to any 501(c)3 Rescue that can help.

Please stop by the Shelter and spend some time with the dogs, we are sure that there is a pup there that will steal your heart. Some of them may look a little anxious or appear stressed just looking through the window so ask to meet them. These are really great dogs who deserve a chance. Some are owner surrenders given up for whatever reason, some are strays just found on the street. They have all been evaluated and have passed their assessments. Some are good with other pets and some prefer to be your one and only. We have young energetic pups and we have older more laid back dogs. All of them deserve a true loving forever home.

Please give them a look, we are running out of room! Please consider adoption or fostering for a Rescue. Our amazing Rescue partners have saved so many dogs, but they cannot do it without fosters.

The Northern Ocean County Animal Facility located at 615 Freemont Ave. in Jackson, is open seven days a week from 1 to 4 PM.

Please give a shelter dog a chance!
